The Great Blue Heron is a beautiful creature
as long as you are not a fish or frog
A talented hunter
she'll wait poised in shallow waters
and spear any who dear to come near
When you see her take flight
and glide down the water
it is grace in motion
Your poem captures her spirit in words
with a gorgeous picture to match

-I find it peaceful, as the heron is peaceful.

The Cape Cod blue heron is beautiful. You described the bird well. Her coloring is beautiful. She is focused on lunch with tasty treats of fish. You got to enjoy the moment. Did you shoot the photo? I love looking at the animals of nature. note - Capitalize the c in cod. Excellent! flylikeaneagle

Beautiful poem and picture. Typo-Cape cod/Cod Canal. It would be great to walk where you could see the elegant bird. They have such patience and then are so quick to grab their lunch out of the water.
I certainly enjoyed reading this poem and imagining the picture in my mind's eye.
