Oh, gosh! What a wonderful hook! A great chapter, Shari. Did Frank get a pair of sneakers for walking after the doc? Congratulations on your awards for your plays! Just a couple of things to look at...

What was it about the '82 lay that made you not want to write any more?

I saw Spruce Creek Del Webb as a self-contained world...Each of the above is a microcosm of society (I don't understand. You say ech of the above, but you have Spruce Creek Del Webb as one place?)

seventy dollars for a pair of walking shoes.(,)" he would argue.

smiles,
Karyn :-)

I felt satisfied with my success and I had a reason to write it. Without a specific audience in mind that I knew would produce, what would be the point?
After naming, SCDW, I mentioned other examples of small societies.
Thanks for the congrats. I won a couple more because the competition was limited to Florida. That's a big help when the entries are cut down.

Wow...I knew you were a good skit writer but had no idea of your accomplishments!
That shot sounded way too painful. Hope I never need one of those. Ending leaves us in wonderment about what the problem is.

Thanks, BG. I had some professional help to hone my playwriting skills. It really helped.
Hopefully, they're doing research to make those shots less painful. I've had about five in my lifetime so far. It doesn't get any easier. But the relief from pain is worth it.

Uh oh! One problem. Wonder what that could be? Could it be she wanted you to be silent for the entire trip:) Perhaps at least not say a word about her dear hubby?
I hope she put you out of your misery quickly. The misery of waiting to hear what that one problem was.
Looking forward to hearing what it was all about.

Oh, oh! That sounds ominous. Well done with your plays and the awards. Being recognised for your writing must have made you feel very proud. I've never heard of heel spur, but I'll look it up when all the French go to bed and my internet dongle works properly!

A heel spur is a calcium deposit and usually has a sharp edge. Very painful. Yes, I was and am proud because I never expected to get that kind of recognition. Just wish I had an agent. Companies that publish plays demand that.

Ya, that does not sound like fun at all, the whole foot thing. Congrats on the play, that's pretty impressive there, Spitfire. Hmm, the ending was definitely a cliff hanger and does not bode well for our hero. Good stuff there, Spitfire.

Nichole is like my sister. She doesn't give out praise. Don't know why since I gave her plenty when she was growing up. I guess California hardened her or maybe it was disappointment at her own failure to reach her dreams of stardom.

uh oh.

I don't like the sound of that! Ominous, indeed! *smile* Good cliff-hanger!

This was a good chapter. I enjoyed reading it! Thanks!

With Nicole it's always something. Curious as to what the problem might be. Interesting account of the ins and outs of your theatrical productions. Congratulations on the success of your plays. Love your comment about Frank being good at telling people where to go. Cheapest isn't always the way to go. I hope Frank learned that lesson after having trouble with his feet. Good that your son and his wife could come and see the play. judi

Thanks, judi. You always get my best lines:Frank being good at telling people where to go.
As for feet, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't him to drink. Sorry, these clichés are so perfect for some situations.

This was a good chapter. I love the fact that you wrote some successful plays and made a few people laugh at themselves. Sounds cool to me. I've not had heel spurs yet, but I've known those who have and all of them emphasized the pain. This was a great chapter. Thank you for sharing it, my friend.

Always with respect,

Thanks, Eigle, for taking the time to review. You must wear proper shoes to avoid problems. My hubby can be so cheap!

Okay, this episode seems so beniegn compared to so many previous ones. My crystal ball is very cloudy and I can't find a hint as to what bad news might be. It's either you will have to pay for your expenses or there will be a lot of walking. Of course, I could be way off track.

You're right, your hubby is a bit stubborn with regard to certain things in life. Personally, I prefer sneakers. I'm on my feet all day and fancy shoes just don't cut the mustard, so to speak. Besides, an injury to the bottom of my foot makes that preference a must have actually.

I remember reading your play. I did not know that it was a success, but I do remember the battle to get it produced and your disappointment with its reception by the theater group. I personally love satire.

I've been to one wine tasting. I had a good time. I am like you, but the more I try the more selective I become. Merlot was the hardest to get used to. So dry that it felt like my tongue rolled up in my mouth. Cheese makes wine magic though, and makes merlot easier to enjoy.

A nit or two for you to review:

Walmarts > I believe is it singular, simply Walmart, unless that how your hubby refers to it. In that case, you will need an explanation as to why.

It had to be at least ten forever long seconds. >> This is awkward in structure. Maybe something like this: It (the shot) only lasted maybe 10 seconds, but to Frank it must have seemed like forever.

You're right about Walmart, and I changed the awkward wording. I'm pleased that you remembered reading my play.

I don't like Merlot or Chardonnay as too dry also. My preference is sweet reds.

Glad you are being kind to your feet!
