What a delightful turn of events. Nichole certainly is a hard worker. Savvy too if she knows how to handle Jeff as well as a successful career, and both in the same room.
Your life and those of your family are so exciting.

Thanks, debi. It's all in the telling, I'm thinking when I compare it to the drama and tragedy of others.

A wonderful promotion and great recognition for Nicole. She worked hard and got rewarded for it. Finally Jeff also got a job doing something he liked. It's been a long haul for him.
This relationship between Nichole and Jeff reminds me of a friend of mine. She has a daughter who has a Masters degree, but she's married to a guy who probably barely finished High School. My friend is always talking about his lack of initiative. I had to remind her just yesterday ,that she wasn't married to the guy, it was her daughter who was married to him, and she was the one who made that choice." I don't think my friend will ever get over the fact that her son-in-law doesn't have a degree, as she is very big on education, and rightfully so. Yet, as she explained, he is a very nice guy, takes care of the children, treats her daughter very nicely, but his only flaw as far as I can see is that her daughter makes oodles more than he does.
Jeff seems to make your daughter happy, at least she doesn't seem to be complaining.
Your relationship with your daughter seems to be on a good footing, so that's something to be thankful for.
Well done.

Thank you so much for the six. My hubby doesn't have a college degree either and I always more than him. Daughter sees that as a go ahead. The difference is the Frank learned a practical skill during his six years in the Air Force and supported me while I played stay-at-home Mom for seven years. He now brings in more social security than me because he has worked longer. We pointed this out to Nichole. What can I say? He must make her happy. But I don't care to be around him. Guess that's why we haven't seen each other for almost five years now.

Hey You! I am back for a couple hours and wanted to catch one of yours! I bet you were proud, wow. But, heel spurs, they hurt and the ops never seem to help...
Jeff, well, she must see something in him...and it will be intersting to see if it pans out.

How is it there? winter coming, season changes can be hard on folk.
I am good, just trying hard to get the house winter proofed a bit...our friend and handy man had a motor cycle accident, thankfully he is alive, just injured...so i lost my right hand fella...

What a bummer! Looks as if the money he earned will go for medical bills now. Weather is 85 here. Gotta love Florida. :-)
Wish Nichole felt that way! PROUD is right!

hi..well, no medical bills in Germany, we all pay to be insured...or your job has to pay...so, he is okay that way...gotta love standardized medical...
Hell spurs, i get them on and off. The only thing that works is lots of calf stretches, well lots of stretching...sounds odd, but it works...

It has been warm here , in the 70s...been outside building a fence acrosss the back yard, the dog figured out how to get through the temporary one...
    hey ho, so it goes...
    you take care, ok!

Wow! I got as excited as you guys did when I read about how well your daughter is doing and that things are finally looking good as far the relationship goes. This was very exciting and a pleasure to read. You've still got it, my friend. I love reading your work.

Just a side note: I've compiled all of my notes from you and others since I began copying them. All together, after editing them, I have 94 pages. Not bad at all!

Best wishes to you and yours, my good friend.

Always with respect,

Yay, go team Nicky. Well, hey it's good to see that some one's career went into high gear. I'm surprised that Jeff's hasn't done more, that douche bag type of character would seem to fit into a lot of things. Good chapter there, Spitfire.

I agree. I see some pretty lame movies where he could have played a part. LOL

What a wonderful surprise. Sounds like she was well liked by the execs and her boss, which says a lot for her skills with people, so the position is perfect for her.

She KNOWS that others can't stand Jeff's ogre-like ways, yet she still stays with him? I'll bet that drove you nuts, trying to figure out what she saw in the oaf. :)

LOL. I guess he's good in the sack? Or could be that he knows he's got someone to support him and will do anything she wants.

Actually, women preferred to use their maiden names in order to maintain a sense of independence from their husband's. In Nichole's case, it could be that, it could be the pronunciation problem. What a name, LOL. Good for her for getting that promotion (and how smart to seat themselves by people who would not be too put off by obnoxious Hubby). Hugs, Lou

Glad you caught that. I often wonder if she could go farther if she didn't have to claim him as her husband!

What an interesting thought, Shari. But we must always keep in mind we never really know the motives, needs, etc. of other people, even if they're our children.

I bet you were super, super proud! Wouldn't it have been wonderful if Jeff could have pulled his finger out and contributed more on the work front. At least it's her money and career, so she doesn't have to depend on him. Your honesty inspires me to admit my son-in-law isn't a very good provider either, although a hell of a nice guy.

I look forward to reading on.

Being a nice guy goes a long way toward overlooking other faults. She's already told him not to expect to live off of her social security. His won't amount to peanuts.

What a beautiful lady she is, Shari. I sure agree with how proud you were with her promotion. Do you think Jeff felt at a least a little bit of shame he didn't have a job?mdid he do laundry, house cleaning, cooking, shopping etc since he wasn't working? I have a couple of notes...

mid(-)December

"Rick took the mike after me and announced(,) 'I want to give a promotion that is long overdue. The new Vice President of Human Resources is Nichole La May.' ["]I was overwhelmed! Everyone stood and applauded!(")

We're so proud of you(,)." Frank and I said [it] together.

Smiles,
Karyn :-)

Appreciate the comment on Nichole. She's very photogenic. Thanks for catching those commas and missed quotation marks which always trip me up.

Yay for Nicole...I could feel how proud you and Frank were for her and rightfully so.
I could so see why she kept her maiden name...8-)

Thank you, BG for the exceptional rating. Her married name sounds so harsh IMO. Frank still brags that she's a vice president. I'm just tickled that she has a talent for business. Jeff does do all the cooking and his own laundry. Nichole doesn't want him to do hers.
