Wonderful lines and metaphors. I loved reading this out loud. The words have a great sonorous quality. Thanks for sharing this piece.

To tell you the truth, I had to read it twice, and could not understand the story behind it. I liked the metaphors used, the entire delivery package, but the story line escaped me. I will read once more...

once upon a time gold found its shine
Christ blessed meant to be was ordained
both heaven and earth danced in lifes eternal flame
but Loves enemy in deliberate shame, poisoned the wellspring.
this is the aftermath of a man trying to understand and receive some kind of conformation that He sees him bleed and feels it same as he. Obviously he seeks explanation and the cup a cool waters assurance of Love....anyway -smile- ..mucho gracious...love Michael

I like the stark opposites used to better highlight how our world can be split into extremes in many areas, including the basic needs of survival. I wish I knew he answer. Well made.

I liked your poem of the forest calling for nourishment to replace what the fall had taken away. I like the picture of art that you chose for your setting of poem.

A very well-written poem. We starve of hunger to get in shape for the summer to be able to show our bodies off. It is not always worth the effort when you are always feeling hungry.

Michael. Cryptic, as always, and probably challenging for the newbies. Your talented voice is truly unique. So spiritual. "lonely as a poem unread". Awesome. DJ xx

Jesus said "If you only give a cup of water to one of these little, you give to me, and they will not lose their reward," Mark 9:41. Their is enough food in the world I've heard it said, for every man woman and child in the world, and yet so many, particularly children go to bed hungry every night, beautifully written with a compassionate tone to it, well done. Michael, blessings, Roy

    Hi Roy...-smile-
ah wrote this a while ago...just didn't promote it.
though I agree with you...it is heavy sin...that any American goes hungry especially children. but I was hungry for Him...when I penned this. actually I was starving for Him. in truth I had "challenged" Him...earlier and was scared to death I would be disappointed. praise the God of life I wasn't.
I read your recent....just been waiting to reload. love to you brother....michael

This seems symbolic, hunger can be physical or spiritual so this is very interesting work up for interpretation, I have felt both physical and spiritual hunger that only God can feel good work

Michael: I love two parts in particular: "lonely as a poem unread" and "empty as a superficial fool". Great lines to remember . . . how does your mind think?? Supreme writing, my friend. Thunder
