Love the cover of A Tiny tale of terror. Marissa never knew what hit her I suppose and the fathers guilt (though short lived I imagine) had to be mind erasing. Love the audio as well my friend.
God bless and congrats on the poem of the month win.

EEEEK! Don't shoot the kid! lol. Ghosts, as a kid scared me. The ideas of vampires made me nervous. Spiders terrify me, still. But for the life of me, Zombies do nothing for my fear spectrum. (smile) You are in keeping with the times though, Zombies are in and Martians are out.

Hahaha, yeah, pretty much, Seaglass. But I'd pit that monstrosity in the film, ALIEN, against any zombie horde.
I deeply appreciate your comments, and thanks for reading.

Well, thank you, Linda...thank you very much. Will you be selling tickets to your nude foray into the forest falls? Please, you will let me know, won't you?

Hmmm, definitely a different form of parental love, but he was protecting her from a fate worse than death. I dearly hate it when zombies break down your door. Do they really have to be soooo destructive? Oh well, nature of the beast, I guess.

Nice addition to your book, my friend!

Wow you gave me the shivers with this one. But more importantly you caught me rotten. I was totally convinced that his was an air raid siren.

Grrr. Brilliant

You know the initial jolt of fear you felt when the sound effects kicked in, Freda? That sinking, almost sickening feeling deep down in the pit of your stomach?
That's true terror, and the reason these tales are created. You may be terrified at that moment, but oddly enough, you never feel more alive than the moment when it happens. And that..."feeling" ...is what attracted me to the horror genre in the first place.
Thank you for reviewing and supporting Tiny Tales of Terror, and for your very generous six star rating as well.
    I deeply appreciate it!

This is so ghastly I had to laugh. It was part of my defense mechanism. Perhaps because of the sirens this took me back to WWII and the bombings of the blitz. From thence by associatiation the pogroms against the Jews. No the nazis were not going to eat Jewish flesh but the feeling of terror when the stormtroopers called to tke you away to the camps must have been on a par.

Is my imagination too fertile or not fertile enough. Chill ing stuff, Dean.

I'd say your imagination is alive and healthy, 'Gynt, and very much so, lol.

The initial jolt of fear felt when the sound effects kick in--that sinking, almost sickening feeling deep down in the pit of your stomach--is what true terror feels like. It is the reason these tales are created to begin with. You may indeed be terrified at that precise moment. Yet in the same token, oddly enough you never feel more alive than the moment it occurs. And that..."feeling" ...is what attracted me to the horror genre in the first place.

Thank you for reviewing and for your continued support of Tiny Tales of Terror, and for sharing your insights as well.

Well ! What choice did he have ?? You can't fight a load of zombies. The really chilling thing in this whole set up is this - Will Marissa turn into a zombie as well ?

Thanks for reviewing and supporting these Tiny Terror Tales, Ellie. I deeply appreciate it.
It would be a difficult choice to have to make. Traditionally, if the brain is destroyed, the victim's body will not reanimate. As for dear old brave dead, well...it would all depend on how much of him the zombie hordes decided to devour. That's anyone's guess...

Thanks so much again for reading and reviewing.

Creepy, creepy Dean those faces, those eyes at the door. Your pictures combined with your words make for one scary Tale. And what will happen to Dad, even scarier.

This reminds me of the Irishman who, after a particularly nasty altercation with his wife, pointed his handgun at his own temple. As his wife burst into fits of laughter, he exclaimed "make the most of it bitch, you're next!"

That aside, this is all I would expect from you. Wonderfully nasty, and exceedingly well written.

The best (for me) sentence of the story also contains the only mistake (I think):

"Night washes over foul scenarios being played out on the face our once beautiful world, much like an ebony velvet curtain closing on the final performance of an ill-conceived play."

Great imagery, but I think it's missing an "of" after face.

Terrific stuff Dean, thanks for sharing.
Craig.

WEll, you've done it again, Dean.... freaked out my dogs and upset the entire household at 1 am... I'm going to learn, someday, not to read your work past midnight... You're going to have a warning sign much like the Gremlins did...
Caution: Do not read after midnight! May cause frightening things to happen!
lol
I don't know if they jumped higher, or if I did. But someone shrieked... I'm sure it was the Yorkie! lol
I 'enjoyed' this... (is that the right word?) I don't think so.... but maybe. ?
anyway, the following part is the only spag I noticed... just missing one word to set it right. Well done Dean... you've scared another year off me. ;)
Oh well, I probably would have run out of money anyway. LOL
Yikes!
