I love road stories also. You have told yours well. Interesting and entertaining, and something to think about. Your tale is well structured with a smooth flow. The characters are appealing and you give them a personality and emotion which endears them to your audience.
At first I thought I might be reading a horror story, you build suspense well and provided intrigue to keep us guessing. I like where you turned into that cafe and the lovely, welcoming spirit of Madge came alive. Her character was both real and surreal. In the beginning you captured the road adventure and then the frustration of one not really designed for a long drive. Your conclusion is so touching. Thank you for this lovely road experience, I've enjoyed it very much. I didn't spot any spag, though I was engrossed and as a poet may miss things a prose writer will pick up. This was great Mike. I like the inspiration you got from seeing the picture of Madge's Café. Great touch that the sign said hamburgers and beer 5 cents. You spin a wonderful take - great characters - loved Cari's spirit and your sense of humor comes through. This is a great supernatural tale - suspenseful and entertaining. It reminds me of the days I used to watch Twilight Zone on T.V many years ago. This tale was like taking a journey back through a time machine. It would have made a great script for that show. Great job!!! (by the way - small thing I noticed - a typo I think in the last line "felling" - think you meant feeling.)

Thus was so much the opposite. In the end the worst thing that happened is that they couldn't keep seeing the ghost. Quite a rare twist of events.
Your descriptions were excellent and had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, waiting.

Although the dialogue is realistic and the description quite vivid, I'm sorry to say this is not my type of fiction. It seems like an episode from _The Twilight Zone_. The action is unbelievable and not thought-provoking. Be careful with commas. For instance, "Cari, is more beautiful than I've ever seen her. I guess it's that, new mothers glow, I've heard about." No commas needed.
