Hello and good prologues for a story..
I bet you had fun counted to keep only 40 words in each of your six stories..
Well #3 drew my attention.

this is an excellent series of story beginnings neonewman. I would be most interested in the early labor in the Bermuda triangle. I wish you the best of luck in the contest.

Hi Neonewman
Four and six right off the bat. I'm a crime thriller fan, and these two draw me in. Of course finding the body grabbed me first. :)) They all sound intriguing and your forty words cover a lot of space and scope to draw the reader in and want more. Incredible how you prose writers can make so much of so few words. Well, the best of you can. Heather and her "specialty herbs" ... a certain bud ... hmmm, I'm already interested and entertained. A large dash of horror in number five. A fine entry. I wish you the best of luck. Warmest regards - Lovinia xoxo

Hello :)
You wrote very interesting beginnings of stories. My favorite is 5. Chains were strapped across my chest, .... It is the kind of story I like to read. Good job!

Interesting themes for your stories. They all have potential but I probably prefer 1 and 3, as the others seem a bit scary. Good luck in the contest. faye

Wow! I was drawn in..and then left hanging. I hope that you get the chance to make full stories out of your beginnings! I was intrigued by them all. I tried to pick one I liked better than the others, but they all had different appeal. Great job on this contest, you may just win it! Good luck!

All six story beginnings are good. I think 5 and 6 were the more gripping. However, the writes were all good enough for me to want to carry on and see what would happen next. Well done and good luck in the competition.

As I read these, I could see each one becoming a best seller.
I think, as a writer, you should go ahead and complete these, if not in book, at least in story form.
#3. mother goes into labor on board the family pleasure boat, you aren't due to be born yet.... the boat is slipping into the Bermuda triangle.
Hooked me from the first words..
Good luck in the contest.
