I am so sorry for being so late in my reply. Just been busy with "life". :o) I drove my 86 yr. old mom to her family reunion and been on the run since. Now, the holidays are coming. My favorite time of year. Anyway. Thank you so much for your kind review. I really appreciate it.

This is very good. There is so much emotion contained in only a few words. Most of us can identify with the feelings expressed. The ticking clock adds to the suspense and emotion of the poem. I almost never give six stars for a poem, but this one deserves them.

I enjoyed your poem. My father died four weeks ago and it was really surreal. he had been sick for so long and time seemed to drag on for him. There finally came a day when time no longer mattered

Pierre, I am so sorry for the loss of your father. I lost mine 13 years ago and still think of him and miss him every day.

I read your poem just now and I feel like crying. I like the way you stayed in present tense. I find that hard to do. It is a touching and beautiful poem. If you wrote it concerning your own mother....I am very sorry for your sadness and worries. If written for another....God bless them too and my empathy to them. I especially like how you repeated the words: "the clock keeps ticking" after each verse. That made the poem so powerful and moving. It is original and heartfelt. Thank you for sharing it.

Thank you for reviewing my poem about my mother. I wrote this while sitting with my mother in the hospital. I watched
her sleep and she seemed so fragile. I love her so much. Today at 86 she is healthy and happy.

What a beautiful poem about your mom. I think she had a heart attack and the repeating line of 'the clock keeps on ticking' can be meant as the time of her life, and also the beating of her heart. I love it. Good job!

Gypsy, you really "got" my poem. I wrote this poem sitting in the hosptal watching my mom sleep. She had always been
so strong. Watching her lie there so fragile stirred my heart to write this poem to relieve some of my own pain. The idea
of losing her was and still is overwhelming to me. Since my retirement from nursing, my husband and I have
sold our house (2 hr. drive away) and moved next door to her. I get to see her every day now. It is a blessing. At 86 she is now
healthy and happy.

Thank you MissMerri. I am so glad you loved my poem about my mother. Today at 86 she is doing great. I
get to see her every day since I moved next door to her last year. The thought of losing her still
overwhelms me. She is a dear Christian woman and I know that when "it" happens that we'll only be
parted for a short time then eternity with her, my dad, brother and loved ones.
