You are soooo right. (Though I truly hope, hope, HOPE you're only writing this in the fictional sense!! But if not -- sending a hug!!!)

We have a tendency to look at the total number of casualties and mourn the losses en masse. To the families of each soldier, the picture is NOT the same. Great senryu. Thanks for reminding us to change our focus!

Hi and excellent message for those that cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it...only trouble is, the ones that make the decisions don't give a damn about any ones family because they don't have their own family participating in it rather, their own family are the ones that run the oil and the scandals. I enjoyed the steam you let me release with your nicely rung message here. Cheers.

Very well written senryu, so short and yet
you tell us a very sad story.

Excellent entry to the contest.
I wish you good luck in the contest.

Hello,

Your senryu is definitely emotional, I am very sorry for your loss, my condolences. You did a good job with the syllable count, the two connected lines, and the poignant satori.

I am terribly sorry for the loss of your son. I don't care if it happened 100 years ago that does not make it yesterday's news. The loss of anyone is tragic and terrible. May God bless you and keep you.

A very solid poem. Few words but packs a punch. It is so meaningful, political, complacent, sad all in one go. Well done and thank you very much for sharing your thoughtful words. Good luck.

This is a hard hitting poem. I think all feel a little guilty when a boy is lost in a war and you share how it's barely even news. Very well done - one of the strongest three line poems I've maybe ever read.
