A great chapter, it's good to see the positive of side of life for a change. So often we see to be buried in nothing but the negative aspects of everything around us. It's also encouraging to see the positive effects that you had on your students. Just think somewhere on e of your budding authors may be writing about the teacher that had the most effect on their life. Good stuff there, Spitfire.

What a wonderful thing to say, that must have made your day. Marvelous chapter and the easy of getting nap and the ending of his chapter brought tears to my eyes. Great work with this one.

Oh, sasha, I'm glad the passion I felt comes through to a reader.
Hugs,

Shari your last lines made this for me. Yes I have felt this too. It's the struggling kids that we can touch who elevate teaching beyond almost any other job. you made a positive difference to those kids.
There is a typo
What about your plans to being a speech therapist .....for becoming
God bless

Fixed the typo, kiwi. Glad you cited the effect of the last line. People say teachers can't shape teens like they can children because they're too old to change. I disagree. It can be done, but takes more effort.

I think this is the highest complement a teacher can get:
My last year of teaching, a young man who had epilepsy came to me at the end of our final class. "You made a difference in my life," he said. "Thank you for that."
'The feel good' must be so rewarding.
I'm glad you and Frank could settle into a new routine so easily.

Thanks, Nichole. It is rewarding to have students appreciate you.
I had a young lady who told me that my class was the only reason she came to school! It doesn't get any better than that!

My friend, this was a very touching chapter. You made it through all the crises. Your family went their own way and are succeeding in life. You are teaching children that appreciate your teaching talents. There's got to be a lot of wonderful emotions in this. I really enjoyed this chapter. It was amazing. Best wishes to you and yours, my good friend.
Always with respect,

That final line just reaches out and squeezes the heart, Shari. You always see the good in the outcomes, the lemonade in the lemons you are handed. It had to be a great day to hear you made a difference in someone's life, and realize you imparted more than book knowledge in your students' lives.
I'm glad it worked out with Frank so easily. He seems like a great guy And the soul mate to compliment you perfectly.

What a sweet review, debi. That line reflected what I felt all these years but couldn't put into words. Yes, Frank is still quick to apologize if he shouts at me and vice versa. Thanks a whole bunch for the exceptional review.

When one line can make me ball like a baby ... my eyes are still making my eyelashes wet. Hold on.
All better.
Darn it.
Great chapter. Things went so well with Frank. You both took a nap and talked at dinner.
And your teaching left you with memories you'll never forget and a thank you that the honors' kids never gave you.
Here's the line that got me--deep inside where no one ever goes: 'Teaching gifted classes gave me a chance to expand brains. Teaching average and below average teens gave me a chance to touch souls.'

I'm so glad those lines touched you, Ellen. That's the goal of writers. I have a photo album of some students with sweet messages on the back. Also notes of thanks from many. A real up-lifter when I get down. Thanks ever so much for the six.

Too many times seems like siblings grow up, and apart from one another, choosing to have very little or nothing to do with one another. Well written story depicts this theme nicely.

I felt sad about that. I would have liked to stayed close to Barbara. At least, my sister Anne's four boys stayed close.
Thanks for you wonderful comments, Brett.
