Really sharp ending on that, Dean...this kind of stuff always lends itself to the question "Is he crazy or is it really a ghost?" And I love that kind of horror where I have to try to make up my mind. ( '1408' was another great example)... You really did that in a quick burst! Great job as always!

Thanks, 'Lips! I appreciate it, and I'm happy to know that you 'enjoyed' the story,--if enjoyed is indeed the appropriate word to use in this instance. LOL. ~Dean

How sad for the little one as she had every reason to cry - mommy left, daddy messed up beyond measure. Truly an well written advertisement for birth control. Wickedly well penned and despairingly lacking in moral fiber. Nicely done and I thank you very much for sharing it.

this is an excellent write, dean, the man tormented night and day by the daughter who won't stay dead. his mind still hears her screams. I enjoyed reading this one.

Excellent shortie horror, Deano.

Top surprise ending which could be conceived as deeper than it seems...did Daddy murder his daughter to deserve her constant haunting, and if so, how did he get away with it?

Why did the mother leave?

Of course, these questions are difficult to answer within the constraints.

Nice one.

Best wishes, Ray

This hit me in the gut. The father decided on the ultimate cure for his daughter's sleep. Maybe, he should have tried putting sugar in her milk. I heard that works.

I'm going to assume mommy left in a way that was bloody and by his hands. It's the small details that are blaring in between the lines that tell the real story. Another great nightmares are made from story.

This is really very funny Dean, I love it! I hope it's not what I think happened, but then, I love it, the truth is the humour is very witty, I hope I don't offend, it's true you can't kill the dead, well done, blessings, Roy.

Hello Handsome~ I love this tiny tale of terror. Being a mother myself, it really freak me out to think about a baby ghost. You know how to scare us parents. Like Stephen King, he never lost any sleep scaring parents half to death. Well Done!

Wow, Dean. This is truly good. This one really got to me. It paints a bleak and scary picture based upon my biggest of fears and speaks to me all too well as for how I'd be haunted by certain losses. What stands out for me is YOUR perspective on the genre that you excel so much in. I am intrigued by how you yourself perceive horror and how the psyche works, especially being darkly influenced by all things strange, eerie or sometimes flat out revolting.
I get into the horror around Halloween! LOL Also, weather can stir that bend towards the macabre, too. Spring( April) mostly summon such darkness, but I imagine that's because I've had a lot of people important die in that month so yearly anniversaries deliver such inclination to the forefront my thoughts each year. Anyway, Sorry I haven't been reviewing. This is cool. I like it a lot. Take care. Bruce.

This is a bloodless horror story--although the murder might have been bloody, it isn't described in this post. A very ghostly write, my friend. I added one to the book today. Great write, my friend~Debbie
