Hi Teresa

This was an interesting piece. Get blocked or bike? This must be autobiographical as I can't really see those two things together popping in as a choice except through experience!

Not that I am calling you a drunk, you understand! LOL

Some great lines in there - bliss or oblivion.

Nice one
G

no, not a drunk - just a thought though and a very bad day. The bike won out in the end:) Thanks G

Quite the picture that must have been the inspiration for this free verse sequence about drunks. In particular on riding a bike. Very descriptive. Loved the line: wobble my way
in a brown bag bottle. The grocery isle (assuming they sell liquor or beer) is quite revealing in frequency and convenience.

I certainly hope you are not describing your self here. The booze is definitely not the way to go.
This is an excellent poem which put a smile on my dial. Well done indeed.

It is a true poem about me. I don't drink but a glass or 2 of wine month. I was having a really bad day and thought about getting drunk but in the end I just rode my bicycling - a much better choice:) Thanks Chris.

Well written free verse poem. Sometimes you can't help smiling inside for the things people do when they are under the influence of too much wine. It is amusing how they try to hide the obvious as well. The photo itself speak more than words can tell. Good work

I liked this somewhat different poem about choices, about feeling blue, about perhaps the option of empowerment (bike without the booze maybe). You put a different slant on coping with the difficulties of life. Perhaps we should run or ride rather than indulge in the bottle or self pity. Great. !!

Tab, the fate of indecision :) A snapshot in time, you caught one of life's lessons with humor and poise, I think. Enjoyed a bit of a laugh on this early Thursday morning. Can't sleep.

Another good one, my friend.

Ha! Too much choice, and too much pain - lots of loss and little gain, exercise to chase the blues, all depends on one's own views. I would pick the numbing drink, cause sister, this ol' life can stink!

(I wouldn't really - I drink about once or twice a year, but if those were the only two choices, I guess I WOULD. These bones and muscles couldn't handle anything but a motorcycle now... *grin*)

See what your great free verse did? Totally involved me! I loved it! ...sigh...I have no sixes left this week though - wish I did!

Thank you Dawn for the fun review. I drink maybe a glass or two of wine a month but I did think about getting drunk. I rode the bicycle instead - only about 7 miles but a much better choice I think:)

You're very welcome - it was a fun read too - we're all there at some time, aren't we? (I kinda feel like I could tie one on today, even. LOL)

Grog is so available in American shops. Sounds like a temporary citizen trip to oblivion. Still, falling off a cycle is not as bad as riding a high powered motorcycle, killing yourself and maybe others. Tough write.

Very picturesque to be sure.. :-)
A visual journey through the aisles trying to decide which bottle to pick..
And then the wobbly ride home...
Haven't been there done that, but you made it seem so real.
:-) Carolyn

I didn't drink and wobble - just rode the bike - no drinking:) Thanks so much.

I somehow figured that. The seat is to high on my bike. It is as low as it will go without cutting it, however, I weeble wobble and some folks probably just figure I've had a few.... which I don't. LOL
