Been there, done that on on hot high school summer day. Much better than driving a car...and far less painful for all involved. Where is his helmet lol?

The poem is biographical. Last Friday - just a very bad day. I rarely drink and never to get drunk but I seriously thought about it that day, but chose the bike ride instead:) the photo is from google. thanks Debbie

Reality of life call to play in this work. Philosophically, work and pleasure never goes together. There must me a parallel line. It relates to day to day run of life and moderation is call to bear here. Nice delivery.

To drink or not to drink. That is the question, as Shakespeare would say. Whichever you choose you will end up wasted! The bike ride seems a better option because, although you may have a few aching muscles, there will be no long term damage.

HI
I have often thought about people who drink and cycle, do they get breathalyzed? I think you made the right choice and abstain, well at least until you got home safely.
well done

Everything we do in this world is an escape. Some are more invigorating, some are plain healthier. God knows and turns away sometimes (opinion mine) I think the aim is to escape this dreary earth sometimes and fly with the angels. -Ekim777

And a SOMO
I know of one that I SHOULD send this to. Yes the guy upstairs. He's been having moments of coming unglued. Drifting further and further upstairs.
such is life.
This is a great depiction of those days of a heavy drinker and confusion.
great penning

I find this work interesting, in the presentation of thoughts, creative structuring, and balance between drunk and best health -a real delight to read, I thought being different

I used to spend a lot of my time in an alcoholic haze so I know what you mean Teresa, not that that would be you, of course, but I know a hobby of yours is to observe those around you, and it stirs to write, beautifully done, but the expressed path to take is to pedal to mental exhaustion, keeps the body fit, and the liver healthy, makes you tired and oblivious, well done, blessings, Roy.

I rarely drink and never to get drunk (not for years anyway) but yes, the other day I was just having a really bad day and I did walk the aisle in the grocery looking at the booze and thinking about getting drunk. In the end though I did ride my bike - a much better choice for sure:) thank you Roy.

Most welcome, I'm gad, better choice Teresa

LOL... Bike or Booze... you do. You have to CHOOSE one. You can't do both.
;)
I had to smile at this... and this photo rocks. Poor guy. :(
'bike or booze
I can't decide
drown my sorrows
or pedal my way
to mental exhaustion '
It's sad to be this way... but hey, OCD tendencies will do that to you. :)
go go go till you can't. Some days you're the doggie, some days you're the tree. :(
lol
I enjoyed this . Well done
Cat
(I love the line at the bottom Teresa... limited punctuation- my choice.) put that period there for emphasis. LOL
No question, just is. ;)
