I love the story and the picture. It looks like me when facing a candy bar. I remember taking my kids to the drive in movies. We would dress the younger ones in their night clothes. We would park near the playground underneath the screen. My husband and I would sit on chairs in front of the car. We usually had to carry sleeping children in. Great work. It brought back happy memories.

Oh yes, I remember well the "Drive-In" experience. :) My Mom took us, but we parked, if I remember correctly, within shouting distance to the playground in front of the giant screen. I also believe that is where my life-long love of popcorn began.
Alas, I can no longer have it due to my tummy but the smell still drives me crazy.
I live in south Alabama on the coast. A lil town called Bayou la Batre. So hi there, Bama girl :)
This story was so well done and I enjoyed the reading of it also the memories it gave me :) Good luck in the contest.

Thank you for commenting on my story. I still love popcorn, too. I had forgotten about the playgrounds. My parents
would never let us go up and play. I always wanted to go and swing. :o(

I was fascinated by this; all completely new to me. There are and never have been, so far as I know, any drive-in movie sites in the UK where I live. The weather just isn't good enough, I guess. Looking at the internet, it would seem that there are still quite a number of them in the US.
