A very nice contrast between the dreams of men and his true limits. With God's help, we can only try, hope, and pray to reach for those golden dreams. We can attempt to know more, although our measure is still just our own conquest and most time we fail in the greater battle. I enjoyed reading your poem as it has many poetic qualities. Well done.

Why do we bow to the moon so readily. Is she our eternal muse or just the leader of our cosmos? Baudelaire once said; "I am a graveyard/ Abhorred by the moon./ But these could never be our poet's words because he has found his own true voice and rejoices in it. -Ekim777

Once again, you have produced a poem worthy of the Angel's praise. You always move me so deeply. As I've said before, you do it with such ease and grace. It's almost like you could write poetry as easily as you speak!

Thanks Rhonda, I think we all have a defining gift from God, but we still need one another, and to think that He will make our lives worthwhile, by simply using what He has given, like you dear friend, and your boundless encouragement, blessings, Roy.

The device of repetition is used here very effectively with the repeated "ifs" but the real strength these four rhyming couplet-based quatrarains is the imagery they evoke, achieved by such excellent phrases as:

"if I could sew those worthwhile dreams,
on golden looms with shining seams."

Each stanza creates its own image but that one is my favourite.

Hi, Roy...

_ This has such a great rhythm to it.
_ Leap from a star and capture moonbeams in a jar, and so on as the song goes.
_ Love the words in this. So true. God is love.
_ As always, a pleasure to read, my friend

Cheers & Blessings

What a remarkable picture to inspire this fine poem. You may not be a god, but you are the next best thing - a poet! This particular poem has a lovely flow, rich imagery and imagination.

Hi Roy,
First of all I love this picture of the moon, and the ray of light captures well the power and magic of things, and how wonderful it is that God created the universe.
I have a different belief that I hope I won't offend by mentioning it. I believe that God imagined the world before He created. Everything we see was once imagined, and everything we see that changes such as seasons are an illusion. We have the power to create whatever we want because God gave us that power through our imagination, providing that we live what we want as if it would be already our reality. When I was ill, I saw myself already cured, I felt what I would feel as if I was already cured. Being cured was already my reality. We don't achieve what we want, but what we are.
Thank you for sharing this lovely poem with wonderful word choice and imagery.

No I agree with you Jade, God is the ultimate dreamer, He dreamt of His creation before it was even formed, particularly you Jade read Jeremiah 1:5, Psalm 139:14. Thank you for this wonderful review and comments. He is also the ultimate healer, Exodus 15:26. So I believe everything you've said. Yes we are meant to be dreamers, read Hebrews 11:1. blessings, Roy.
