You write so beautifully Roy its always a pleasure to read your work. If this is a direct result in your finding of god then religion is a wonderful thing for you and I greatly admire your conviction and faith. The man upstairs would be so proud of your faith and devotion in verse.

Not only do I love the artwork you choose for your poem.
I was spelled bound by every line I read.
This is the best one I read this morning.
Thank you for sharing.

I guess we will just have to be inspired by God's gift to us and appreciate the night light we have. We can bathe in it's silvery light and write our words to its beauty.

Juxtaposing imagery of wishing, great and mystical wishing, with the boundless creativity and love of God, sets up a beautiful and impressive poem. Three 'if only' verses wax lyrical about what you could do if you 'could capture moonlight's beams, wrote words like gems, or could weave love's spell' etc. Each fanciful, each sewn into the fabric of imagination and wishful thinking, not one great idea compares with 'boundless joy that makes hearts sing' and this is of course, God's love. A poem that once again brings humility front and centre in the presence of the Light.

Excellent photo that complements your poem perfectly. It rhymes in couplets and flows well. You chose an original subject. You wanted many things, but you are not God. Your God is love, it descends on a dove.

We as writers and human beings can also influence others' lives, not by preaching to them but by guiding them in the right direction. I feel it's my duty to educate people and help them see the light. There is much wrong with society (assisted by media and other evil forces which don't tell the truth), I can influence people to see the light. Having faith in God is important, but co-operation between people and action are the only way to put the world to rights. I am very ardent about these things and comment daily online for others to read, as does my son who is a journalist. Your poem tells me you feel the same, but the end verse sees you leaving it to God-I would like to believe that were possible, but I won't give up the fight-my son has already made a difference to people's lives in the causes he pursues. Lovely imagery of the things you would like to do to help humanity, which is very admirable and excellent rhyming. I wanted to impart my views on this subject and to show that I may write poetry, but I also write to give people hope and encourage them to take up the fight. This was my Monday morning rant-hope you don't mind, Roy. Most enjoyable poem. Faye

You and I aren't terribly different, but I've seen what God can really do in my life, and those Christians close to me, and many others, including my children, my heart was changed completely, an alcoholic, smoker, compulsive gambler, but God works from the inside, there's nothing we can do to replace that! The cross is both vertical and horizontal, the 1st Commandant says. "Love The Lord your God with all you heart, with all your mind, with all your strength, and your neighbour as yourself!" They work together, not apart, hence the poem, nothing will ever change my mind, that's why I hope I never boast about my good works. Otherwise I'm a Pharisee! We can only reveal the love of God, but only He can perform the miraculous, Thanks for the great review, Faye, blessings, Roy.

You're welcome, Roy. I am a good Christian too, but being so passionate about all the causes my son and I follow I have to do more. We write to educate people about how they are being fooled by the media, what we must do to bring about needed change in our decadent society. I was not knocking religion, it is just not enough nowadays-action and unity are necessary. If not, there will be uprisings throughout the world-my son has predicted this and I am sure he is right. Without my beliefs I wouldn't be a compassionate person, and I truly am. Faye

If only I could weave love's spell,
impart hope's flower, ring its bell,
if I could sew those worthwhile dreams,
on golden looms with shining seams.

I enjoyed your poem, immensely. Captured my thoughts with its good flow of words.
Nicely done. John

Wow, Roy, wonderful descriptions that paint beautiful picture of the aspects of the moon. If we all could capture that magic that bestows joy and happiness on all. But, as you so expertly describe only God can grant joy through an appreciation of Him. Great poem.
