Okay. I'm coming close to getting it but I haven't arrived at it yet. I do however enjoy the pairing of your words with the picture that is appropriate.

I like this senryu, Roy. In a way, it chases it's own tail. The spine thing does double duty. One entity raises its spine, causing the other entity to admit a lack of one.
Convolution in 14 words! And they said it couldn't be done!

It really made me smile and raised a little chuckle. I just hope it was written for somebody (and not just the contest) and that it had the intended effect when they read it. It's a lovely little love letter.

'If I have a spine'...that's quite an admission, but I'm sure you're braver than that.
Have to laugh at calling the cat shiver (maybe a capital would help here) and then suggesting it might run up your spine. Very good. Good luck with this.
