I wrote a poem for you, a few poems back. Here it is,
For Brooke
there would be loons
crooning from somewhere on the lake
haunting, yet soothing songs
that tuck in the day
for a warm summer night
fog skulks toward the shore
where water slaps the rocks
where fireflies and fascinating fairies
frolic through ferns
rotten logs are resuscitated
and shy forest creatures are coaxed
from their hiding places
for a moonlight rendezvous
with enchantment
there would be a gentle rain
the kind that cools you down
washes your face
scrubs the earth
a drink for dandelions and daisies
drops for the outstretched tongue
refreshment
and then there would be dreams
colored with happy stories and poems
the ones you hear around a campfire
ones that snap and spit
others that sizzle and fizzle
still others that shoot the stars
they speak to us and make us wriggle
or make us giggle
Listen!
The loons are laughing too~

yours till the ocean wears rubber pants
to keep its bottom dry,
