The secret of these repeating poems is to make the repeated line appear tooccur quite naturally in the playce where the form demands that it should go. That is not alwasys easy to achieve but you have done it so well here linking the bible stories quite naturally.

Thanks too for the notes; to my eternal shame I neeeded the Esther one but the others I am proud to say were well embedded from those fay off school days. I doubt if it happens today for fear of offending the muslims!

I admired your Quatern and your alternating rhymes in the quatrains along with the cascading repeats. Thank you for the synopsis of the Bible stories that are woven into your poem and the lovely artwork that compliments it. Cheers- Joan

Wow W.J. Debi..You definitely deserve a six from me on this one..Thank you for sharing scripture in your author notes as to review what your poem was all about. Indeed inspirational. The ending of your poem regarding the thorns on the trail was spell-binding. Good luck and cheers.

Hi Debi,
"the paths of faith are so diverse" is a great open and close for your wonderful quatern poem. I love your unique rhyming words, great enjambment, and smooth meter. It all makes for an enjoyable read and makes your points very well.
Your closing verse it skillfully written and sums everything up with a strong statement. Quaterns are not the easiest from to write but you've done a great job here.
All the best,
Rodger

Thank you for the wonderful six stars, Rodger! You have me smiling. Thank you for the comments about the closing and opening line. Truth be told, this is my first Quatern. I decided I would spend some time dabbling in various forms this year. I had no idea there are so many and some of them are very challenging. Getting the line to move in each quatrain for the quatern and still work with theme wasn't easy. Thank you for the kind comments about the writing. I appreciate the encouragement. Debi

Debi;
-I was still familiar with the parable in the Bible but you authors notes and very helpful in determining the spiritual aspects of your poem. Your authors notes was definitely helpful for me and remembering the parables.
-Good use of enjambment throughout.
-Well achieve the rhyming where each of the rhyming words were contingent to the meaning and concept of each line. This is very helpful for the rhythm to flow smoothly.
-The rhythmic meter was iambic tetrameter and the cadence, timing and tempo wall helpful in making the reading clear, fluid and very easy.
-The imagery was such as it was exquisitely expressive and vivid and demonstratively descriptive.
-Thank you for a very inspirational and enlightening piece of poetry.
-Thank you for sharing and posting and may the good Lord be with you forever.
Alex

Three biblical stories woven into your quatern poem, it fairly "sings" with a wonderful list of the faithful in the scriptures, these were great fellows of faith in the Old Testament, examples, not of perfect people, but God's heroes who forged a path of faithfulness to the gospel of Christ, long before His time! Well done, written cleverly, the meter is smooth and clear, the lyrical language is really good, I enjoyed this so much, in abab rhyming, cleverly composed, well done, blessings, Roy.

Thank you for the great review, Roy. I am flattered by the kind comments. I do like that the people in the scriptures have flaws and worries just like we do. It makes them easy to relate to and gives me hope. Thank you for the insights on the theme and the encouraging comments about the writing. Debi

I liked this comparing paths in life to those of bible days of old - neat connection. Faith is always the bottom line, isn't it? Nice job on the Quatern as well. Very enjoyable and easy to read. Thanks and blessings, Carol
