G'day Jo. Very well written and very well said. Most people go through life blindly thinking they have done what they have done, God has been the one to guide them all the way and protect them if they try to make decent choices. Well done my friend, cheers Fez

Fez, I always love to hear from you. I'm honored that you enjoy my stories. I know I sure enjoy yours. In a way you remind
me of my brother Rex. He passed away three years ago of lung cancer at 58. I miss him every day. He was creative like you and so funny. My parents adopted him when he was five years old . He was the oldest at age 5 of 3 siblings. Parents had abandoned them and he had taken care of his siblings until someone found them (weeks). He was something. Loved music, flowers, Disney land/world, and life in general. I can't wait to see him again in Heaven.

justjo66: a story filled with truth. God is our pilot no matter how dark the day. He will show to the sunshine and Godshine.
Your last two sentences should be just one.
"I touch my foot to the accelerator and trust that there is road up ahead, that my pilot knows HIS way for me."
Nice write. livelylinda

Hi there,
Well this was something of a religious stealth attack. Coming out of nowhere really, just like an obstacle in your fog.
I am not sure I agree totally with your analogy of God being the pilot. I think this negates elements of free will and so on but this is not the time for a theological discussion! lol.
Very well written piece.
Nice one]GMG

I can identify with what you have said as I don''t like the fog/unseen things that are ahead. But God knows everything and can see through the deepest and darkest paths. Great read and keep on writing.

"Don't throw me any curves", I wail. "I want a predictable, safe life". No unseen curves, no surprises, no slick spots...just easy sailing. Don't take me out of my comfort zone. What a safe but boring life. ............But nature, like life, sometimes does its own thing and throws us curves anyway, JustJo, regardless of our pleas, doesn't it?
Good use of fog as a metaphor to convey how God is able to guide us through the foggiest roads. And, as you stated quite succinctly, we may not know what lies up ahead...in the murkiness...on the road...around the next bend...in the darkness. But HE does, and we must rely on Him to see us through safely.

With God in your life you have to fear nothing, He will take safely to your destination. He is sitting by our side whether it's driving a car in rough weather or going through the bumpy roads of life. He said He will never forsake or leave us. Beautiful message in your write. The picture used mirrors your poem.

Yes, the word is trust. That's what we have to do in order to get through the fog of this life. Trust in the Pilot, as you so aptly put it. Without Him to guide me, I would never get lout of the fog. I would still be wandering around, dazed and lost. But with my dear Saviour guiding me, "I shall not fear for thou art with me, thy rod and staff they comfort me."
Thank you for the reminder that as long as we allow Him to guide us, we will be safe.

Comment from Brett Matthew West
Fog can indeed be a very unpleasant driving experience, and the heavier it is the worse it can seem to be. However, this story then changes direction and says that with God as our pilot we have nothing to fear. Very well stated and reminds of that saying "Cast your vote for Jesus. Keep your eyes on Calvary" and everything else just seems to take care of itself. Well done.

I like the use of metaphors, comparing life to driving in a fog, but with God's guidance we will find the way. Good descriptions, well narrated story and great message. Faye

What a beautiful devotional about allowing God to guide us through the fog. I'm with you, I'm afraid of the fog. It is good to know that God is our pilot and our lighthouse in the darkness. Thanks for sharing this beautiful message,
Rhonda
