This one is terrific. Scared the hell out of me. I watched a TV program once that had a girl standing in front of a glass door take a selfie of herself and when she looked at the photo she saw the face of someone outside the door. But realizing she was looking at the reflection makes that one seem trite. Absolutely terrific work with this one. Sorry, but I'm out of 6's or I'd give you one.

LOL I like your author notes but not as much as your story. It was really scary. I like the ending, it was unexpected and terrifying. Great job Dean!

Dean: I'm glad that you are feeling like your old - new self. Your stories are intense and have a great build up with detail descriptions of the moment. I'm sure that you don't need editing, being a pro yourself. Her screams went unheard as her frightning friend got close. I don't think that they play a game of go- fish.
Enjoy your evening...pleasant and sweet sleep.

I noticed that my contest is full...remember the date of July 20. See you then! Thanks for joining in the great grace. We studied Romans 11 today. Wait until the Jews get a hold of Jesus, the Isis will be blown away! Kaboom by the Word!

Way to go Dean...another great one. I really like the effect of placing the stranger in the snow and then moving him in the house by way of first recognizing that there are no footprints! Scenario reminds me a bit of that movie, "When a Stranger Calls"...that's still pretty scary stuff to me!

I remember that movie, 'Lips. I got cold chills when the guy on the telephone told the babysitter..."Have you checked the children?" geeze-oh-Pete's, was that creepy!
Thanks again for another positively outstanding review, my friend.

You just have such a powerful way with words, "Like a malignant, oily fog." Even finding ways to use the word, "Darkly." You bring it a new depth and feel to something that would be bland and sublime. You scare me with your poetic prose!

Thank you, Stan. I gotta admit, you give me the heebie-jeebies with your own stories most times. If you ever feel...adventurous, feel free to contribute your own tiny terror tale to the book, my friend. It's a multi-authored book and is open to all FanStory members. Especially those members who are horror aficionados and fans of the genre themselves--like you!
    Much obliged, my friend. ~Dean

Ha-ha, well, Cat, that's one of the most enthusiastic responses to a story I've ever had the pleasure of recieving since I came to FanStory two years ago, I believe. Thanks so much for that.

All you have to do is write a flash or micro fiction short story of between 100-500 words, and in the horror/thriller category of course. Then, go to any chapter in the book and near the bottom of the page you'll see several tabs. You'll want to click on the tab labeled "ADD CHAPTER". Then you simply submit your story and art work just as you would any other. It's that easy, and it'll be really interesting to see what you come up with.
    Thanks so much again!
    Hugs...

You got me again. I was prepared to be scare as she saw the man in her yard but I wasn't prepared for him to be inside. Loved how you gave the small details and how the reader came to the realization at the exact moment she did.

Thanks, Gretchen. Even I got cold chills while writing this one late last night. I kept glancing out my back window which leads to the deck outside. You ever had the feeling that someone was watching you? That's how I felt, and I'm sure it helped in the writing of this.
Thanks so much for the six stars and your kind comments. I'm really glad you enjoyed it.
