Dean;
-Wow! Bravo! This is a really good one being the ending was perpetual and sudden like the slamming of a door. The events leading up to it were captivating and full of eventful terror. You cascaded your word smoothly as running water only to splash on a hot simmered surface. Nothing could relinquish the thought that she was about to die at the hands of a madman.
-Excellent piece of writing. And thank you for sharing and posting this Dean and may the good Lord be with you forever.

YIKES> HIT SEND YOU STUPID GIRL>this is the typical reaction when watching a horror/thriller movie, isn't it? And this is the reaction your story has on me - I want to reach right through the darn screen and shake her out of her stupor.

My pleasure, Dean - I only wish I had more time available to review more than I do. :0)

I only wish I had more time to respond to my reviews. That recent five day hospital stay really put me behind and in a HUGE bind!

    No worries, Dawn. :)

Oh Dean - I'm sorry - I didn't know. Yes, my replies are so far behind I have completely given up any hope of ever catching up. Glad you're home and feeling better, though - sending healing vibes!

Thanks Dean - I just screamed and I am work! At least no customers in. Frightening to say the least. You are turning too many people (in stories or poems) over to your dark side lately:)

Ha-ha, thanks for letting me know that, Teresa. Too bad there were no customers there, you could have given me a referral, LOL.
I'm happy to see many people who normally don't deal with horror stories are taking an interest in this series. I'm sure I speak for all of the other contributing authors as well.
    Much obliged, "t". ~Dean :)

Hi Spooky,

Well, this is another creepy one which fits right in to this great series. Lot of authors on the rip now.

Anyway, malignant oily fog is a great phrase, it just oozes malevolence. More direct similes in this piece as well. A bit of a different tone, bringing good variety to the work.

Horrifying, sudden clarity is a great combination too.

All the best
G

Dean, you definitely know how to change what I thought was happening to such a surprise --

The reflection in the glass--his reflection-- was coming from inside her home.
( hope it was just a BAD Dream.

This is probably one of your best short horror stories. The reason I gave it an exceptional rating was the twist and shock at the end when you wrote:
"...his reflection-- was coming from inside her home." Superbly done, Dean.

That's certainly an inside story, the stuff that keeps us awake at night so that we don't dream. If we do, though, we can always write a horror story. Evi

Excellent artwork that complements your story perfectly. This was really horror. A female heard on the news that a killer was in their neighbourhood. The next thing is, she sees a man through her window that looks just like him. She wants to phone the police, but then she noticed his reflection was from the inside. I think she'll get killed.
