I hope they don't disqualify this as more of a spiritual poem than a love poem
about romantic love. Since I am no judge, I'll call it excellent. I might change the first couplet to read,
I was born to see the sunlight sparkle in the dew,
light a candle in the dark, and let it shine for you.
But you know what they say about opinions...

Well, Roy. This was certainly a refreshingly different take on the love poem. But agape love--the love God has and shares with us--is the most powerful, most encompassing there there is. So... why not?

Wonderfully rhymed, perfectly composed. Great work with this very inspirational, uplifting poem.

Good structure, rhymes, and repetition of "I was born." This is a spiritual love poem. You eloquently describe God's "loving warm embrace." A Bible-based, faith-based poem of spiritual love sets your poem apart from love poems about carnal love. You convey a gentle, faith-based message in a love poem to God. Thank you for sharing.
