She's going to phone Laura!!! The spooky ringtone is going to interrupt Igor and Catriona's lovemaking. Will they be scared? And what will Samantha make of the intrusion when she is having such a lovely in-body experience!

Sadly, Samantha is the only one to hear Laura's spooky' ringtone when Karen phones it, the response to which I will post on Sunday. Poor woman would have jumped out of her skin if she had one! Alexis xxx

Hahahahaha! OOPS! G'day Alexis another brilliant chapter mate. Just when I was feeling sorry for a ghost (I'm insane I think) she gets to be part of the action, how cool. I loved that finish, what a scream...

How the you put that accent above the letter as in cafe?

One suggestion...

"She usually spent this chilling-out period after the kitchen was finished with Igor," (maybe try..."after the kitchen was closed," because it seems to read as the the kitchen was finished doind something with Igor, to me.

Hello, I read through the comments and saw other readers had touched on my corrections, so.... i'll just say what a twist in the story and done with such humor. I laughed and agreed with the reader who thought it would be funny to have the dpooky phone ringing scare Samantha!

You could throw Jasper in there for good measure... Don't animals react to spirits? I could see the little brute hissing at Samantha and frightening the heck out of our young lovers!

Can't wait for the next chapter. :-)

I'm glad to say I managed to finish the next chapter today, Sue. It's been like giving birth to triplets - a fairly painful process! I knew it would set the scene for at least three characters, so I write and rewrote for three days. Hopefully, I can just go for it now. Thank you so much for the six stars. I showed Sandra a piece I wrote for my own purposes, she thought I should post it.
I would want to rework some of it, it was therapy writing.
Such a crazy chotic week , with moving buildings at work.
And we leave tomorrow for Lebowskifest in Louisville, Kenyucky, which is an absolute blast. We went last year.

But I WILL try to post something soon, maybe within the week.

The good news with 'A new beginning,' is the fact it's based on a hotel and the different characters who visit or work there, so it's fairly easy to dip in and out of. Well, if one scored points on how long it took to write, this one would be off the scale! I can't believe how hard it was. I think that's because it would map out so many different 'futures' for all the characters in the book, I was stressing out all the time while I was writing it! If Samantha's in Catarina's body, Catarina wouldn't hear the ring tone. Samantha would. Can a ghost be afraid of another ghost? Would she be so afraid that she'd want to stay inside Catarina to hide? Or would she think it's her love come back to find her? In which case, she'd(as Catarina) answer the phone?
Igor's there, too. What does he do? Recognize the phone as being Laura's and laugh at the joke, not knowing about the real ghost kissing him as Catarina? He could diffuse the situation and things cold go on as they are until he discovers something different about Catarina. (She takes on some of Samantha's traits when Samantha's in her. The rest of the time she's herself.)
Samantha would love to get out of that room. What better way than inside Catarina? Can she find her boyfriend if she leaves the room? He might be haunting somewhere else? Wondering where she is. Two spirits unable to move on until they find each other.

Like I said, there are so many possibilities.
Here's a far fetched idea: Maybe the mouse can help. She's in the story, so she's there for a reason. Where is she? What is her significance?

HE HE, one ringy dingy (as Lilly Tomlin always said). As always, you leave us readers waiting to find out what happens next, we know that the answering voice and sounds is just about to scare Catarina and Igor half to death, in all probability. Great job. :-)

Great chapter Alexis! :) I thought the part where you had Samantha go into Catarina's body while her & Igor kissed was an excellent idea! It put some extra excitement into the kiss. You described it all perfect! I could just see all this happening as I read it. :)

I hope Laura's phone doesn't cause problems when it rings w/the spooky ring tone. If Igor finds out she did that, he will not be very happy about that, especially if it scares off Catarina. Now I can't wait to find out what happens next!

What an interesting episode with Catarina being inhabited by Samantha while planting a kiss on Igor's mouth, what an experience for Samantha being disembodied for all those years, she really enjoyed, but It disoriented poor old Catarina!
