Good palindrome, the layout suited the reverse of verse. Those mouth watering descriptive words taking the reader on a sensory trip, just one bite is all I wanted. Great picture to compliment your work.

Debi;
-This is so much fun exponentially excellent and plus it as a dietary need to my weight gain. You create an appetite in me, for the love of hot bread being buttered.
Your palindrome Is precise and actually perfectly written according to the requirements. Very clever and witty year imagination is truly inventive and ingeniously creative.
- Good luck in the contest and may the good Lord be with you always.
Alex

LOL, Alex. Bread is irresistible when it is fresh and hot, isn't it? It doesn't do much for my waistline either. Thank you for the encouraging comments about the writing and well wishes for the contest. Debi

w.j. Debi, I am impressed with this poem! You have taught me a new form, the palindrome! You have done such a remarkable job on this and about one of my favorite foods, rolls! :). I really enjoyed the personification of the knife anticipating the inside of the roll! The best smelling kitchen is the aroma of bread cooking! The reader should definitely salivate with this one! Nicely written. The picture makes the poem as well! Now, I think I would like to have one for real!

I hadn't heard of a palindrome poem until I saw a contest for them last year on FS. It isn't a type you see often.
I agree, a kitchen smells its best when there is bread of some sort in the oven. I have such a weakness for bread. I am happy you enjoyed the poem and I appreciate the encouraging comments about the writing. I hope you get a nice tasty roll for real!

Quite a conundrum to create lines that can be reversed like this whilst also maintaining a flow of sense in the mirror image. It must have taken a while to achieve! A rather excellent poem to wake up to on a Sunday morning! I feel breakfast coming on. Off to the bread oven!

You nailed it! Great palindrome poem!....It is such a difficult structure ...I know that because I tried to write one...three words later I gave it up. :) Flowed nicely, wouldn't change a thing....and... it made me hungry! Enjoy your day! Sam

Thank you for the exceptional review, Sam! I appreciate the shiny six stars. Even more I appreciate that you have tried one of these so you can relate. I've attempted a palindrome a few times before and given up part way though. Last week someone brought me some fresh baked rolls and they were so yummy it brought a few phrases to mind, and one thing led to another. Anyway, thank you again and I hope some fresh baked rolls are in your future.

Good job! I like your poem. It has good rhythm and a nice flow. The format is attractive and easy to read. I don't see anything to change is perfect the way it is.

You've written a very fine palindrome poem
Most of these seem forced when read backwards, but yours reads very well in both directions
The sensory imagery is excellent: the smell, taste, and texture make the reader want to taste one of those home baked rolls
Very good picture to compliment the poem
Well done, please pass the rolls.

Thank you for the encouraging review and for mentioning the sensory imagery. If it weren't so hot I might bake some rolls and send you one. Thank you!

You are most welcome. Stay clear of the hot oven. I'll enjoy a virtual roll, instead.

I thought this was a strong poem. It easily grabbed my interest - food will do that! I love the word choices - including the repetition of "yummy!" And it flowed beautifully. Well done!

I'll have to try one of these, they look reasonably attemptable, there are so many different forms, wired and wonderful, so I find this one a good one to copy, well done, delicious subject, hot rolls with butter, Melty and runny, nicely worded, a lighthearted entry in this contest, and a worthy one. Well done, blessings, Roy.

Very nicely done and it makes sense. Creative and accompanied by a tempting image. I think the palindrome poem is a difficult form, but you did it well. Marilyn

Thank you, Marilyn. I've never tried a palindrome before and it takes some thinking to get a line to make sense forwards and backwards. I appreciate you stating it makes sense. That was my biggest worry.
