This is a great story in a poem and a very nice contest entry. I really loved the story of Rusty's horse and dog, roundup. Loved the ending; proving good guys always win. In stories, that is.

Since this series is mostly for the kids, the good guys have to win. It's lots of fun to write. Thanks for the wonderful review.

Cindy;
-a very effectively and impressively written story within a poem that I enjoyed reading because of how well you had written the rhythm, the couplet rhyming and the concept and topic that kept me interested throughout the writing.
-Good use of enjambment which is the running on of a thought and concepts from one stanza and line to the next without a syntactical break.
-Near and notable alliteration's: /"Jerry jing jang"/"Russ the Rustler"/"Spring sunshine"/"Cowboy and cowdog"/"Raven and Roudup"/"Rusty's arm roped"/
-Excellent rhyming couplets were each rhyming word was contingent to the meaning and concept of each line making the rhythm flow smoothly.
-Rhythmic meter was iambic pentameter and Acadians, timing and tempo were all helpful in making the reading clear, fluid and very easy.
-Good luck in the contest. Cindy and may the good Lord be with you always my friend.
Alex

Very nice. It's not often I become so engrossed in the story part of a poem. Well done, with colorful names and characters. The cadence, rhyme, along with the characters add up to make this poem a very good candidate to have music set to it. I could be this as a folk song quite easily.
I also like how jing-jang sounds like spurs, adding a sound element to the writing.
Wonderful job.

This is a fun Western story in a poem. Great alliteration for characters like Jerry Jing-Jang and Rusty the Rustler. The story was easy to follow through your rhymes and descriptions. Your story poem also engaged my imagination. Thank you for sharing. I wish you success in the contest.

I really enjoyed this western story of Jerry Jing Jang. He set out to catch Rusty and catch him he did. Great rhythm, rhyme, and flow. Tells a great story.

This story in a poem was very well told. That little old dog was very bold. I enjoyed reading this old western tale and loved the picture. Good luck in the contest and thank you for sharing.

Jerry Jing-Jang then tied him up tight
And with his dog keeping watch slept through night.
Two days later, trembling and pale
Rusty was happy to see the jail.
This reminds me of the cunning of Brer Fox and Brer Rabbit...well penned
God bless
