This is a fabulous prayer or free verse, which really inspired me today. So when I'm inspired by a writing, its a six. I myself meditate once a day, and it's really amazing how once you ease the chatter of the brain how much comes to you. "Quiet my soul for a change and wait for your gentle voice" - great line. Good luck with this one - it's special

Thank you so much Val for your six stars. I am so glad I inspired you. I have been doing a weekly Bible study on "Hearing God's Voice" . This is the inspiration behind the verse.

The picture used mirrors your poem. Very nice prayer to God .In it you tell Him that you need answers but you can't do it without Him. This time you sit quietly to listen to his voice since at times you feel you are doing all the talking. He answers and you are pleased He did. It is a very sincere and has good imagery. Good luck in the contest.

This is so beautiful, and very true about many of us, as we sit "quietly" waiting for the Lord to speak. The trouble is, that we get distracted so easily, when we are supposed to be quiet and waiting on Him.
I like the reality of this poem. I could just see myself getting distracted by my 5 senses, when I am supposed to be honing in on the Almighty. Then you get Satan's little voice of condemnation as he sits on your shoulder. " You mean you couldn't just sit quietly for 5 minutes?
Thankfully, our Father is so understanding and forgiving, He is still there waiting to hear from us, the next time we try this exercise again.

Thank you abbbasjoy for your comments on my work. I am currently doing a Bible study on "Hearing God's Voice" and one of the hardest things for me to do is quiet my mind. God is working on me...

This is a humble prayer and conversation with God. I appreciate your emphasis on our need to listen and not talk all of the time. Post shows an intimate friendship and relationship with God. It also shows the narrator's humility and faith. Thank you for sharing. I wish you sucess in the contest.
