She was a real looker once I guess. What people will do to change eye color. Seems excessive. I guess you caught her eye though. Your gentle manner doesn't seem to be at all appreciated in this story, Dean. I imagine you actually engage in these operations before putting pen to paper. Research, research.

Hi Spooky,

I liked the one way conversation you adopted for this piece. Leaving the reader to provide the incredulous terror of the other 'participant'.

Perhaps, though, the technique is not quite so perfected to have a true 'living doll'.

Chilling, macabre, and funny.

Nicely done.

don't expend any enegies - energies

    Yeah, the guy's projects were all pretty much a complete wash...and total failures, G-Man, at least as they pertain to creating living dolls.
    I'm glad to know you picked up on the dark humor in this. I had the character Hannibal Lecter in my head the entire time I was writing his dialogue. You know, Hannibal's a pretty witty guy...for a cannibal, heh-heh.

    Much obliged for the sixer, and the excellent feedback, my friend. ~Spooky :}

God, you have the fear factor built into almost everything you write. Thank goodness that occasionally you tip toe through the tulips or I'd honestly be terrified of you. Talk about authentic! Genuinely am unnerved right now.

Delightfully twisted and sick. This is the kind of villian that I like to read. Calm, cool, even polite while he's doing all sorts of horrible and disgusting things to his victims. It gives the character more depth and makes him seem that much more evil.
Your tale was well told. The matter of fact was that you wrote this overshadowed the almost total lack of description of place. This reads like a one sided conversation and works brilliantly that way.
The twist at the end was great too. The disappointment he expressed that he didn't get to hear her dying gasp.
Great story, quite gruesome. :)

    Yeah...all Hannibal Lecter-ish and such, huh?
    Thanks, Michael.

Goodness me, Dean, that's a double dose of horror in just a few short minutes. How am I going to sleep tonight??? You have a nice collection of stories for this book now, they would make a good series, just like the Alfred Hitchcock Half Hour, they were really good in his day. Excellent, my friend! xsx Sandra

I almost had to stop reading, but then saw the end was near so it couldn't get too disturbing. Lol!

Did you mean to say energies instead of enegies?

I love the last line, dammit! I honestly would never choose your genre from a stack of books, so I'm very surprised at how much I've enjoyed what you've written!

I'm still cracking up....dammit!

Wow, Dean. I had no idea what I was getting into here! Real enough that I felt like I was the victim! Ha! Great job.

I do not expect a response, so please, don't expend any enegies (energies?) in trying.

    Heh-heh... I caught that, Lois. Well, I can certainly say one thing for sure. You know how to point out a mistake so one sits up and takes notice, LOL.
    Thank you very much for catching my dyslexic defect. And for enduring the story as well. All is appreciated. :}

Ughhhh ........ if I had any desire for lunch it is gone now LOL. This is very well written and brought the ending scene in "Jeepers Creepers" to mind. Kudos for prompting such a grizzly visual. As always, masterfully penned and I thank you for sharing it.

Well, this one didn't scare me as much -
that's a first for you, Dean. I wrote
something similar (my attempt at horror)
called Jake's Hobby - it was really nasty..
so I guess I was somewhat prepared to read
this, my friend. Mind, I like these short,
sharp stories.

    Well, I'm very glad it didn't send you into fits of convulsion, toss your cookies, or anything of that nature, Magaret, lol. It's a story I've had written for quite some time -- probably a couple of months. I have many more awaiting edits right behind this one.
    I'm happy you've taken an interest in these brief jaunts into the world of horror and the macabre. I'm sure each and every author who's been gracious enough to submit their own work feels much the same.
    Thanks very much for your review. :}
