A lovely affectionate write, my friend. I am recuperating so a bit slow getting through all. A heartfelt write which touches areas we all may face or have face at some time in our lives, one way or another.
I have no sixes left so the next best must suffice.
Well done, my friend.
Best wishes,

Thank you so much, my friend. I hope it wasn't anything serious? I thought I hadn't seen you on here for a while. My poem was a slightly altered version of what I had to tell my two sons when their father died. It is never an easy thing to do. Thank you for your lovely comments. Take care, and get well soon. xsx Sandra

A very sweet poem... I'm glad it wasn't actually 'about' your life. :)
I was reading it and thinking... what?
and then when i got to the notes, I thought, oh thank goodness.
These sorts of things are difficult for me to 'review', especially when i just
want to scream when they are 'real', you know?
Of course, i know that these things happen, I just can't imagine that
this would soothe my heart as a child. But it certainly does break it to
read. The sweetness is conveyed and lovingly written.
Well done and congratulations on your nomination as well.
Hugs

Thank you, Cat, for this lovely review. You are right, of course, it doesn't help the child at the time. I actually had to do something similar to this for my two sons when they were children, their daddy died very young. They are both fathers themselves now and grew up knowing their father would be watching over them. It doesn't matter how old you are, I lost my father 5 years ago, and still miss him terribly. It's lovely being a grandma!! :) xx

A lovely, touching poem. A difficult situation to explain to a child. Artwork presentation works well with your piece. Beautifully written.

Thank you, Marilyn, for your lovely review. I actually had to do that for my sons after their daddy died. They grew up to be fine well adjusted men and fathers. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I am really pleased you liked the way I put it. xsx Sandra.

G'day Sandra, stop making me cry please! This is a very beautiful piece but so very sad, I would hate that job explaining to a little kid why either parent had to go. That's a good senior moment my friend, I hope mine come like that and I'm not just a der head LOL. Cheers Fez

Thank you, my friend. I had to have a similar chat 30 years ago with my sons a few weeks before their daddy died. I kept Brian at home, and he died with us there. It was a terrible time, but my sons were brilliant. You are right, it is not a nice job and not one I'd want my grandchildren to be told. Thanks again, Fez. :) Sandra

What a lovely poem about helping children deal with death, even if it wasn't about animals. You did a great job with the rhyme scheme as well as the photo.

Daddy's words were well chosen, judging from the way the little girl was dealing with the situation. His words enabled her to accept and carry on, even to console her father in his grief. Well done.

A lovely emotive poem about a father and daughter missing a wife and mother respectively. We see and feel the bonding between the father and his daughter through the lens of the daughter. Well done. I like the lilting cadence which gives it a sensual, tender touch to the father daughter relationship.

This is so moving in a sorrowful yet hopeful way. I'm thinking of the different perspectives: losing a spouse, losing a mother, and losing a child. It's so sad and tearful for the people (and people ARE actually animals:)) who are left behind. I got choked up after reading this, and I was very touched.
