ooooooo are there or aren't there ghosts1?! VERY good chapter!

I liked how you handled the whole getting high debacle! Too funny and very believable. Great writing.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I thought I better give poor Laura her dignity back! It seemed like too much angst over two puffs of her first and last joint! Alexis xxx

G'day Alexis, great work mate. Crikey ghosts! You can have those buggers on your own. I am still laughing that she thinks his mouse is his girlfriend, I'm waiting for her reaction when she finds out LOL. Good stuff.

SPAG ALERT....Yay.....

Well spotted, Fez! You're the first to catch that. It's enabled me to correct it in the following chapter too. Thank you! Alexis xxx

Goody, goody, I love stories about hauntings of any kind.
So Igor looks like a woman's idea of hunky. That sight didn't tarnish Lauren's image.

Oh, I'm so pleased that Igor (my
favourite character) will have
a comfortable place to stay at last...
but what's this --- don't tell me
there's a ghost in the bathroom,
or perhaps it's just an electrical
fault.....

If it's anything like the ghosts at the hotel my husband and I ran, it will be a little bit of both! They were so cheeky, they would do all sorts of things with the electrics if they didn't like you. On the other hand, I had one who would switch on the kettle as I passed it at 6.30 in the morning, so I'd get my first cup of tea quicker. I kid you not! Alexis x

Well, I agree Igor does need new accommodation.. Very well written, Couldn't find any faults.. So now you've got yourself into ghosts! I like that. I have been exposed to that and I believe in it! Looking forward to reading on and what you make of it. Ulla

Great chapter! :) So Igor is looking pretty hot now? Hmmm... Interesting. :)
Sounds like Laura impressed Carl. :) At least he will tell all his friends about the Hotel & bring in more guests.
I'm also glad she is looking out for Igor. I was hoping from the last chapter, things wouldn't go bad with him carrying her away from her pot incident. She actually wants to do a favor for him & fix up a room he can use. Just hope it's not 'really' haunted. But that could be fun to read if it turns out haunted. :)

Well, he's got muscles now, which is better than being weedy and having a pot belly! Re the 'ghost' I have a few ideas up my sleeve, but none of them too scary. I have some experience of ghosts in the hotel my husband and I ran, and they can be highly amusing!

My thanks again for the six, Shana. I really appreciate it. Alexis xxx

I thought this was a wonderful example of smooth, free-flowing prose. Also the story-line is compelling. I find myself becoming very attached to your characters. It all feels very professional.

A propos the italics/font size issue, It has occurred to me before, when setting up a new piece in edit mode, that italics did look a fraction larger than normal type-face. So I have just done some tests with it. It is putting italics in the correct font size. The apparent slight increase in size of italics would seem to be an optical illusion, due, no doubt, to the more 'spread out' nature of italics.

Thank you so much for the six, Adrian, and the great advice. I see what you mean, so I returned it to italics with the advanced editor. I've never noticed that before! Alexis x

Lucky Igor gets a haunted room. Should be fun. Seems that a ghost has already turned on the fan. :)

If italics are causing a problem, use the Advanced posting choice.

Maybe the word will get around about the so called hook up between Laura and Igor, but it's better than being known as a pothead. Carl and his mates sound like very generous customers, she better keep them on side. It sounds as if the ghost is still active in the back room. Nadzia and her babies might scare it away when she moves into Igor's new accommodation. Once, again, I enjoyed reading this story.

Now there's a thought. A ghost who's scared of mice! I can see some mileage in that one. Talking about Nazdia's babies, they must be due soon, so I'd better get a move on and get them out of the dry store. Alexis x

Another good chapter, Alexis. Sorry it took me so long to get to it.

Just a few things:

a lover who was years younger than her. [... younger than SHE {"was" implied}]

'This if perfect,' Laura said out loud [Of course you have fixed this by now, but change "if" to "is" >> It's been about 6 hours since I downloaded this. I'm sorry.]
