Oh, Dean, I am so very touched by this poem. It is something that our beloved Brooke would write. I know all of our love has got to be reaching her on a physical and spiritual level... Hugs, Lou

Dean this is so so beautiful and such wonderful imagery as these seeds make their way.. I was waiting to read your tribute. I think Brooke will be so pleased to see all these writers, each one with their unique style, send love and best wishes her way. What I especially loved about yours, is that you came up with different descriptions for these gentle seeds. Bravo, I am proud to be with such talented and heartwarming people. Cheers judester

Dean,
I just love this - and know Brooke will,
she particularly loves dandelions.
We're all sending positive thoughts for
her speedy recovery.

Why didn't you add it to the book of
poems we have?

Margaret

    I thought I was adding it to the book, Margaret. But something happened in the transition between posting the poem, and promoting it. I did have Tom place it in the book, so that's all been taken care of now. I appreciate you taking the time to read and comment on it. Much obliged. ~Dean :}

No better tribute has been written, Dean. A lovely piece of poetry besides. I was so shocked to learn of Brooke's illness when I returned to read some favorite author's works. Yes, you are one of those. I just don't review anymore. Thanks for writing this.

    Thanks very much, Shirley. Long tome no see, my friend.
    I'm pleased you enjoyed reading my poetic dedication to Brooke.
    I attempted to get as close to Brooke's amazing style as I could, especially knowing how much she cherishes her dandelions. While I realize I'm nowhere close, my wish is that it will warm Brooke's heart, and extend to her the powers of healing through friendship, love and our collective prayers for a full recovery.
    Thanks very much for your exemplary comments and exceptional six star rating, Shirley. All are greatly appreciated, as always.

A poetic 'gift' for , as you say, our Poet Laureate, Brooke. A celebration of Nature in all her beloved minutiae - stanza 3 paints in exquisite language, a picture of Nature's quiet sure-footed cycle. Beautiful imagery 'tufted spores' and the 'live show' is mesmeric.

    Brooke is considered to be FanStory's own Poet Laureate, and rightly so. I attempted to get as close to her amazing style as I could. I know how much she cherishes her dandelions. While I realize I'm nowhere close, my wish is that it will warm her heart, and extend to her the powers of healing through friendship, love and our collective prayers for a full recovery.

This is lovely, Dean :) Your words and presentation blend to send atouching message to our dear lover of dandelion seeds. Nice quatrains that count down the travels of the cherished seeds that will grow new dandelions to grace the fertile land. That's what Brooke is all about, she infected us with writing and poetry and then sent us to play with the big kids on this site :)

Beautiful representation of words to express the absence of a dear and devoted friend and Fanstory mentor. I do not know her as well as others but the few encounters I have had have always been encouraging. I know she is going to be so delighted and emotionally touched when she reads the poems written for her.
You've done well in lending a flair to the ten little Indian theme and sending the last little fellow on its way to cheer her up.
I have not read why she is gone other than she is ill.

    I worked diligently on it for three days with very little sleep to try and get as close to Brooke's amazing style as I could. I know how much she cherishes her dandelions.

    strange thing. was looking on my profile and noticed that I was #274 on reviewing. I was looking at a piece someone I wasn't that familiar with had sent me and noticed they were high on the reviewing scale something told me to check out your profile for your reviewing rank that is when I noticed this piece and wondered why it had not been sent to me to review. I hadn't gone to the contest yet to vote but honestly, the picture and style are you.
    so I reviewed you from your profile not your contest. PS I voted for you it was a good story.

    Well, as you know, blind contest entries are never sent out to people who've fanned you. That's just the way it works. I wish more people did what you do; peruse other authors profiles from time to time. I sure do, that's how I run across many blind entries of authors I've fanned myself, and quite often too.

    Thanks again for your support, and your comments. I do appreciate it very much. :}

An exceptional counting poem and tribute to Brooke. I am usually not a fan of counting poems often associated with death, but yours is different because it is associated with life and regeneration. Your rhymes and lines are smooth and your imagery stunning and poignant. This is a perfect, hopeful message to convey to Brooke right now. We all miss her loss here on FanStory. Thank you for caring and for sharing.
