Hi I love the great sincerity in this writing, so full of pathos and sadness , but still so full of genuine courage. Absolutely well written. Things always come back in a circle. Your dad has left, but the charms and charisma he left behind with bring back sweet memories.
Bless you and your family in this distress.

All, apologies for the copy-and-paste reply. It's only because I've had so many beautiful, wonderful, touching replies to my poem and I have so very much to get done in the wake of my Dad's passing.

You've helped me more than you can know and I'll be thinking about your encouraging comments when I read my poem aloud on Wednesday.

Your words mean more than I can say, and I thank you deeply.

Hi Mike, first and foremost I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's death, he was still quite young in this day and age, I am sure he would be proud of your beautiful tribute to him and I hope the reading goes well in church my friend, thank you for allowing us to read your wonderful words.

An ending is a chance
to look back over time
at rivers we have crossed
and mountains we have climbed. - I am sorry for your loss. It is not easy to lose those we cherish. Your poem speaks volumes and these lines speak to me of how endings are a glimpse into our past, reliving the memories and dreams that brought us to now.
Excellent.

Your poem is full of emotiond and is a fitting tribute to your Dad. Death is inevitable but memories last. You have written this poem from your heart and nostalgia. Sorry to hear about the loss.

Hi F.
This memorial poem gave the poet an occasion to reflect upon memory. There is a nice little flourish when the poet tracks closely the blooming of a memory into an imaginative act, a scene, as below:

" It blossoms from a moment
and blooms into a scene,
reminding us of laughs and loves
and all that lies between. "

The poem stayed honest to itself in sense and rhythm to the end.

I enjoyed it.

Cheers,
Laurie Keim

Your poem about your dad is very good. You probably put your whole heart into it.
Since your feelings are on paper you can frame it, put it in a scrapbook and etc.
I am sorry to hear and probably everyone else are, about your dad's passing away but writing sometimes help lift that grief, you get it all out or at least some.
There a plenty of poems about remembering the good time that people shared with their love ones.

I am sure other people like this poem also.

Good luck.

You have written a tribute to your father in a form that is befitting his memorial. I laud you that you make this about him and not about you. It is not easy to do that. But as Emerson said you have given the greatest gift, a part of yourself. My sympathies for you loss.

I'm very sorry to hear of the loss of your father, I lost my Nan to cancer a couple of years back and that was a very painful experience so I can understand what you must be going through. I think this is an excellent tribute to your Dad and I'm sure he will appreciate it...Jacob

I lost my dad in March. I'm 61 but was still Daddy's little girl. Your poem was extremely emotional for me. I understood what you were saying. My prayers are with your family.
