Excellent artwork that complements your poem perfectly, is so cheery. I am sure that Brooke will love it. You made a perfect Sonnet with the twist and the concluding Couplets.

Hi Sharyn - a perfect sonnet in good English sonnet form. Good abab rhyme and a fine end couplet. I agree old age, which we sometimes are inclined to grumble about seem quite acceptable and merciful when it is compared to sudden illness thrust upon us suddenly. Your turn in the third stanza, good but a little ominous. I think I know what you mean, but the words 'life cut short' could be misconstrued. We need to think hard when our work is dedicated to a particular person. I know you mean 'life as we know it is cut short' but of course the limitations of syllable count are at work here. Just a thought. It's not the end till the fat lady sings LOL' but this is a beautifully written sonnet and I wish you good luck in the contest. Warm wishes Dorothy xxx

Thanks Dorothy - I was afraid someone would interpret it that way, but hoped the final couplet would redeem that thought ... :)S

This is deep. I understand the message though. Good job with the sonnet format one that is difficult for me. Everything you wrote is so true. The color scheme and artwork are perfect. Good use of rhyme and the flow is super.

Good job. I see nothing to change. Thanks for sharing.

Another tender, beautiful poem in the book "Get Well Brooke". The losses of old age are often hard to accept, to an extent depending on where we are, surrounded with loving friends close by, compassionate and understanding, supportive and kind, or shut up in caring home, alone, lacking tender loving care.
I weep and pray for ALL and until my day has come to say "Adieu" I shall never cease embracing the (sun)light, celebrate each day with love and when "cut short" accept my fate, dance to Brooke and dandelions, add their young leaves to my meals and smile at the world with love and compassion...

Beautifully written with all the heart and soul imaginable. So touching. The rhyming and flow is just so perfect. Like the part about dandelions because Brooke wrote about that, and the ending two lines is my favorite. Superb. Les

A praise of nature especially the sun light is exemplary. The poetic skill is found within the lines. Yet the nature seems appreciated by the poet with sun shine so delight.

Beautifully composed, this is a fine tribute, to a fine poet and person, the language is exquisitely scribed, the sonnet design is different from the norm, but well done, I'm not entirely sure how cognitive Brooke is, but she will ad ore this, well written in even meter, in ababcdcdefefgg rhyming, well done, blessings, Roy.

This is a terrific Shakespearean sonnet with hints of adewpearl-esque devices to make it known that the whole of it is a tribute to Brooke. It was a pleasure to read.

I could not tell you if this were a sonnet or not, but simply reading it I could feel the passion behind your words. Brooke will be proud when she gets the chance to read this. John
