At least Soni regained consciousness for a bit. Jim's challenge is getting her home safely. But for the immediate time being he needs to take care of her throughout the night.

I knew I kept this six stars for some reason. I must get me a rabbit dogs like these. I will teach them to hunt deer and skin the thing. It would save a lot of time. LOL Another good episode to a great story. At a boy, jIM keep the home fires burning.

Hi, Barb...

-Looks to me like Kuruk could be in attendance---in a manner of speaking.
-Good chapter, and Jim snuck in a kiss as well. He's making progress.
-Had Soni been awake, she'd have probably bopped him for being fresh.

Cheers & Blessings
Keep Smilin'.... Jax (*;*)

Wow, nice write, Barbara. I get the feeling the black bear was Kuruk standing guard. I didn't think black bears were that far south. Although, I have only been in a small part of Texas. I appreciate your notes! :>D Miss Sally

I was confused as to how these people came to this place and who they are, but I was not confused by the writing. It moves along at a good pace and thanks to some interesting dialogue between Jim and the dogs, it kept my interest. You seem to have a good plot flowing and it is an easy read. Fun stuff.

This would be a terrifying situation to be in:
The black bear stood on its hind legs, showing his full, seven feet tall, size and roared. He moved closer, only 15 feet away.
To me, they seem pretty relaxed with this big bear not so far away. I have heard that they are aggressive and attack hikers.
I hope this bear does not eat the men who are tied up.

Black bears normally try to avoid humans. This one is a little different. Thank you for the kind review.

Is a black bear different to a grizzly bear?
reply by the author on 30-May-2015
Yes, they are different kinds of bears, much like different dog breeds.

Somehow I have missed some segments of this story...grrrr. It also confounds me when you're writing fiction that some want to break down the particulars like you have encountered...IE...the Limestone and the Black bear...But no mind...This is a great adventure you here taking us on. Well done.

Always justafan,

Interesting chapter, Barbara.

The black bear stood on its hind legs, showing his full, seven feet tall,(move comma to right) size(,) and (then) roared.

The Great Pyrenees' tail swished back-and-forth (back and forth) a few times.

The two hurried back to Soni, Butkus guarding the four ambushers,(no comma) and the two horses.

You want me to tie up the men,(no comma) so you can help Goliath find the poles."

Jim tied the four men's hands behind their back (backs) and then tied their feet together.

Jim petted each dogs' (dog's) head.

He chuckled,(no comma) as he fed the horses.

Again, he rubbed his eyes.(, this time) This time shaking his head.

I see my comma usage got me again. I am actually trying, I really am. It just doesn't stick in my head. Thank you and God Bless.

I find the story most interesting from the point of view of the behaviour of the animals, both the wild animals and the dogs and horses. They sure are clever dogs. Giddy

Beautifully written and composed, the descriptive narrative is great, one gets a feeling that you're actually there, so well is the narrative written. I love the interaction with the dogs, and the fact that the big black bear is hanging around to supervise that everything's OK, it has something to do with Kuruk! Well done with this one, I wonder if the men will be ok where they are, will they stay there? Good scribing, blessings, Roy.

Spag : He motion(ed) for the horses an Goliath to come.
