Well, it's always nice to get my Jim and Soni fix for the week, and it's also great to learn things about Texas that I didn't necessarily know, and honestly had never thought about. Of course, I would have suspected all those animals to be in Texas, along with a long list of others, but knowledge of the limestone will come in handy one of these days. Thanks for another great chapter. :-)

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

'The black bear stood on its hind legs, showing his full, seven feet tall, size and roared. He moved closer, only 15 feet away.'

Holy crap, I'd be runnin' for the hills. Jim is a brave man.

'The other end of the rope, he tied around each victim's neck.'

Wow, neat trick, further showing Jim's an experienced professional.

I love that the bear may be a powerful apparition!

Great job, Barbara.

:) Bev

Hi Barbara,

Hmm, the Great Bear Spirit intervening? Why do I have a feeling these bushwackers are working for the Hispanic neighbour who wanted to ride Midnight? Somehow I get the feeling he's part of the drug cartel and wants her ranch as well ...

That also leads me to thinking the Homeland Security clown is also working for them. Not a good combination, I just hope Jim can call in the cavalry he's going to need pretty damn quick in the not too distant future methinks.

Patrick

How can anyone question the technical part of your story? Nincompoopish blatherskites are what they are. They don't question two dogs that understand better than most workers and certainly better then teenage kids when given chores. Look, down to the nitty gritty....we have gone through a lot of pages and if this guy Jim is going to have his way with Soni, he better get on the stick. And...wild rabbits..hmm...what's a little tularemia?

Hi,
I really enjoyed reading this chapter
because of the animals of course.
The bad guys after getting attacked
by those 2 dogs probably wouldn't even need to be tied up there wouldn't be
much left to worry about. Those dogs are huge. Anyways, it is a good write the character development and interactions are very good.
The dialogue is smooth and flows well.
The scenes described well. The story line is moving along smoothly and has enough action to really hold the interest of the reader.
Over all it is a very good piece.

I get it, the bear is a spirit that had come to protect Soni! Great description of the landscape in this one. The dogs are amazing and I do hope help arrives soon. Great work with this one and I didn't see anything that needed fixing or changing.

Excellent chapter. Writing was interesting

The black bear stood on its hind legs, showing his full seven feet tall size and roared. He moved closer, only 15 feet away.

Suggestion: take away comma between tall & size.

Your right I do find this piece confusing. When I have time one day I will read the rest of your story as what I read here sounds fascinating. the story flows nicely and holds the attention of the reader right from the start. Love your descriptions of the landscape and the animals involved. Good work.
