I love your use of action tags instead of he said and she said. Your writing is visual. I can see the characters speaking by their action. Your story moves along faster because of it. I hope you do not mind that I use you as a template for writing craftsmanship. I thrilled to experience your deft use of language. Your story is not only a pleasure to read but it teaches me about the writer's craft. Thank you for sharing and caring.

Hi there,

I am not sure why but I don't appear to have read a lot of your writing. So forgive me for juts 'dipping in'.

This was a well written piece with a good tone and accessible writing.

Whilst you don't redefine your characters in each chapter, it may be useful to include more of a 'up to this point' summary. By not doing so you may limit the amount of new readers who could be attracted to a good story. Just a thought.

All the best

This was a great chapter and I enjoyed Jim's interaction with the dogs and the bear. I didn't find any spags at all and the spirit bear was a great touch. As always I'm delighted to read another chapter in this great story.

An interesting story about a man (Jim) and a woman (Soni) stuck in the wilderness with the presence of a big black bear. Jim is trying to get Soni to safety as they have been chased by ruffians and Son I is injured. The bear helps find a place for shelter while their two dogs bring poles to carry Soni to the shelter. In order to feed them the dogs capture three rabbits and after feeding their two horses, Jim builds a campfire so the can roast the rabbits for a meal. As the dogs alert Jim to the presence of the bear he turns to see the bear slowly disappearing until it is no longer in site. Leaves the reader hoping to find out if Jim and Son I survive with the help of all their animals help and why the bear slowly disappeared. Very mysterious!

Excellent, I like your story and hope help will soon come .. I am sure the black bear will be good. Having said that, I have seen and encountered the brown bear in Alaska, and wouldn't dare to go near them. We have small brown bears in northern Spain as well, although rarely encountered. I am looking forward to read on. Ulla

The focus saving Soni. The storyline development after the horses and dogs help get Soni back on solid ground. Goliath goes and finds a shelter, then Butkus and Goliath go and find poles to transport Soni. After they get her to the shelter Jim mentions how rabbit would taste good. Jim watches as the black bear slowly disappears. The dogs return with three rabbits and Jim cooks them.
The dialogue continues to develop the characters. The narration shows the action getting Soni pulled to the top and brought to the shelter. The horses and dogs working together to help Soni.
The hook will Jim realize the bear is one of Soni's guiding spirits?
The emotions felt joy that both human and animal spirits work together.
Keep on writing.

Barbara, have a great week, mine will be better now that I'm on the mend from my surgery. Walk in the shadow of our Lord. *J* Rita.

This was an interesting and kind of exciting chapter. I will have to backtrack to bring myself up to date on this story. It did hold my attention well. The storyline seemed pretty good and the dialog was nice.

It was an excellent chapter, my friend.

Always with respect,

Dear Barbara, This is a great chapter. I truly enjoyed reading it. You are so right Texas has bears. The wildcats have came up as far north as Oklahoma, so have the bears. It is made worse by people feeding them. I can't remember if you live in texas or not if you do please be careful. I know Texas is flooding like Oklahoma. Be safe, Shirley

These animals are both intelligent and obedient, which is a good thing, seeing Jim has no help from anybody, and Soni is in serious trouble.
Is it getting dark or is Jim beginning to hallucinate? Why is the bear apparently fading from sight?
Very interesting. Looking forward to hearing what's going on.
