Thank you for posting this beautiful Memorial Day acrostic poem, read
with quite misty eyes, and could understand your husband's flowing tears,
bless him for his service and courage for this great Country! Your remembrance
is a true keepsake and tribute, for your husband, your love and pride in him,
and bless you for sharing it here.
I lost 2 son's to the Iran/Iraq war...18 months apart...oldest 23, youngest 21..
and I watch the Memorial Day tribute on T.V...every year...and I know what
the tears flow for. God bless your husband, mind if I ask you to give him
a hug for me too? I am glad you have him home with you.
Blessings and gratitude always, Ronni

This is a wonderful tribute to our service men and women who have fought for our freedom. You should have entered it in the acrostic poem contest.

I didn't know your husband fought in those wars. So sorry he was hurt. My husband was in the service for 6 years, but between wars. He watches a lot of true history stories on the wars on TV.

May the Lord bless you both. LaVonne

    LaVonne,

Thanks so much for the six star rating, tell your husband we send our thanks for his service for our freedom. Yes, my husband after the Vietnam war and being discharged from the Army he joined the National Guard. When the Gulf war started he was activated to active duty and was away from home for a year. When he came home he was not the same. Blessings my dear and thank you. Portia

Of course I like your acrostic poem, I just wrote a haiku about holidays.

A person can never write too much about heroes and you probably could have said more.

I tried using red font but someone had a hard time writing it, so I made the font black. I read your very well.

Good luck with your acrostic poem.

Pharp, I am so sorry to hear about your husband; eternal honor s to him for serving his country and for protecting and spreading democracy and civil liberties throughout the world. Your poem is a moving, passionate and insightful tribute to all American service men and women who have given so much, some of them their lives, in protecting your country but also the freedom and liberties of allies and friends.
Great thanks for sharing and all the best to you and your husband. Olof

    Thanks so much Chris Tee,
After seeing my husband crying while watching a Tribute to those who lost their lives on Memorial Day, it touched my heart. So, at the last minute I had to write this tribute and I needed to make sure those who fought in Vietnam was recognized. I didn't know about the contest. Thanks so much for your review and kindness. Really great art work here for these
words written. Many have died at war
fighting for their country.
When we lose our loved ones and friends
we never get over it really.

That was a glowing tribute. The theme was august for this auspicious occasion. Your sincerity and gratitude resonated throughout your acrostic poem. Your words a celebratory cadence, which made it easy and enjoyable to read.
The end rhyming pattern in each line added to its smooth flow. Your skillful and artistry of your writing continues inspire and bring me joy.
I found no technical flaws. I thank you as always for sharing it with us.

My hometown probably has provided more soldiers by far than the average town
its size. I served in the Navy. We thank you for the acrostic and for the note to
deepen the meaning.

This acrostic poem skillfully reminds us to remember those who have fallen in war. Every decade it seems there's a new war to remember. I remember them on this day as I pray for peace.
