What a fascinating place this must be! It is notable for its uniqueness, certainly, but just the realization of all the human effort expended in a massive work of art that can be only temporary makes it especially striking and memorable. Your description all the way through is great, but your last line is a classic.

It's also extremely expensive, but they have daily tours for people not staying at the hotel. Thanks.

Yes, they do have electricity. the place is all lit up, but the showers are in another building with hot water and lockers. Thanks.
