She's a clever girl, is your Karen. What a brilliant idea! A good, eventful chapter.
'she shot across the reception hall and grabbed it out of [the receiver] *its cradle*. (The receiver is, technically the earpiece which generates the sound. In practice, the combined earpiece/microphone is referred to as the receiver, as opposed to the box with the dialling buttons on which the receiver rests when not in use).

Good point, Adrian. I can always count on you to pick up on my less obvious mistakes. After deliberation, I now merely have her crossing the hallway and grabbing the phone. A 'cradle' sounds more like a traditional telephone, and my other alternative 'pod' sounds a bit strange too. Many thanks for watching my back! Alexis x

Fantastic chapter Alexis! I'm so glad Karen and Laura were quick on their feet to help out Patsy. I just don't believe this Deirdre will just forget all about Patsy though. She seems like a con that will still be persistent. Can't wait to read more!

Don't worry, I think the thought that she might be investigated by the police will make Deirdre worry sufficiently to disappear from Patsy's life! My thanks again for your wonderful review and the glittering stars! Alexis x

A fast moving chapter, Alexis. Some dirty work at the crossroads by Dierdre, trying to take advantage of someone like Patsy. Clever thinking on Karen's part by fobbing off the caller on the phone, which I presume was Dierdre.

I would have liked to see Deirdre get what she had coming, but at least she'll be sweating bug juice for a while and she'll think twice before she does it again. Perhaps prosecuting her would have taken the book too far off track. Karen certainly came up with a creative solution.

Me too, but as you say, it might have taken the book down a track that took it off course. Although I touch on serious subjects, the book is based on laughter, and lots of it! Alexis x

Excellent. The story is coming along nicely, and poor Patsy is maybe getting the better of Deidre with the help of her friends. Could find no faults and I am looking forward to reading on. Ulla

Thank you, Ulla. Patsy is a great character to work with because she's led such a reclusive life. I just have to make sure she doesn't take over the book! Alexis x

Action in this story continues to flow smoothly. Easy to follow story line. Descriptive language holds reader's interest throughout.

When Laura went back through to the reception area after she calmed Patsy down, Jenny and Karen were waiting for her. After she told them how the so called 'friend' had tried to con Patsy out of her inheritance, their mouths dropped open.--Here's just a suggestion:

Another great suggestion. Isn't it funny how we see things more clearly when we get someone else's perspective? Thank you, my friend. Your opinion is always appreciated. Alexis xxx

Having created the problem of Deirdre, I had to think of a way to get red of her. It took me two days, but hopefully that's the last of her! Alexis x

A cafetiere is a cylindrical see-through jug with a 'plunger' incorporated in the lid. You put your ground coffee in the bottom, top up with boiling water with the plunger in the 'up' position for couple of minutes. You then push down the plunger (which is a tight fit inside the jug) and the coffee granules get trapped at the bottom. That leaves you with a jug of coffee similar to a peculator. http://www.wikihow.com/Use-a-French-Press-or-Cafetiere
Hope this explains it. x
