Sounds absolutely lovely! But where do you get water? I'm guessing there's no indoor plumbing. The stain glass windows must be stunning. And I love the description of "shattered sunlight" in the trees -- the outdoor stained glass, I guess.

I just wrote a long reply, not sure if it went out. I have nice rainwater and a pond in the forest. For drinking water and ice I have good friends. My mom and I made the stained glass windows. I have a cool out house with lots of windows. I put the ashes from my bonfire and it is great. Some people from this site read about the cabin and want to visit so I extended an open invitation to fanstory if anyone wants to road trip and visit I will be there all summer and lots of fun stuff to do. Google Bread and Puppet or Shelburne museum, Those are 2 fun things. I know all the backroads and swimming holes. Vermont is what America was. This summer I want to sell 5 of my 10 acres and put in a well. solar and gas. Some friends want to rent it out this winter and they are not as hardy as I am ha ha. This is certainly a good description of this cabin and all that makes it feel authentic. There are some errors that need to be corrected: that my mom loving (did you mean my LOVING MOM?); The sentence that begins "The sun in the morning..." is clumsy and ends with a preposition - Perhaps flip it around: It is a joy to wake up in the loft when the sun, shining through the stained glass windows, turns it into a golden, warm cocoon.

Thanks for the encouraging review and six stars marylou. The cabin is in north east Vermont and I built it when I was 19. Because I am in the renovating business so many wonderful pieces came my way to be recycled and used again. I am going back in June. It was fun to revisit it in my mind and share with you, cheers j
