I really liked this well=written story -- guess those folks who handle emergencies are called on to do many things. Sally was going above the call of duty but it was certainly a generous act on her part - so comforting for the victim.

Thank you so much for the kind review. Yes, I believe First Responders sacrifice much to save people when seconds matter. Thanks again.

How sweet the thought in this situation
To carry the kiss with respiration
So quick to think with the need
To calm the man was such a feat

Well done fine lady for the task
Sweet the lips that kissed so fast
For the love that her holds for his wife
You gave your lips for her in sacrifice

Life and death kisses. A small price to pay to save a life. He was not seeing the lady but he thought it was her, his love. It takes a lot of skilled EMT's and doctors to help in an accident. We hear the helicopters come into and leave our hospital. I pray. Great imagination for this contest entry.

What a beautiful gift to give this wounded man. Shows that love can keep you stabilized. Let's put Sally up for saint hood. She knows how to heal without meds.

The slight absurdity of a kiss between strangers well taken care of here. And a
short straight shot of a story. I didn't bother counting the words, I am no judge
in any contest. Five.

Thank you so much for the wonderful revie and comments. A kiss between strangers is a bit absurd, so I thought the greatest reason for that would be to save lives!,

This meets the contest requirements with a correct theme and word count. This was a highly imaginative way in which to bring the concept of a stranger into the story and you deserve kudos for such creativity in one hundred words. I wish you all the best in the voting and thank you for sharing it.

Good job! I like your story. It meets the 100 words requirement and it is a complete little story that you could use for a longer and more complete story.

Thank you so much. That's a good idea on a longer story; they are so much easier to write.

I had to read this twice, and on the second reading it finally sank in.
Wow! What an excellent, poignant piece of flash fiction writing this is. Very powerful.
It simply illustrates the lengths that those brave men and women who attempt to rescue us from the twisted hulks of metal that once used to be a car will go to in saving a life. One day, that life might be our own.

Great work here, and best of luck to you in the contest. ~Dean

Thank you, Dean, the idea was to give a nod to these first responders. Thanks for drawing the correlation, and thanks for the well wishes.

Very interesting, that's some EMT. Yes, I can see how an act of kindness, perhaps a little white lie could do more good than harm and perhaps save a life. Good story idea.

Hi there,

a lot of very varied entrants into this competition.

I liked this one a lot. The mercy of a stranger's kiss.

Nicely told
