A different kind of poem from you, Tom. I give this a hardy thumbs up and loved the mystical aspects. "Animated Stills"--perfectly named. I look forward to more of the same.

Great rock. I too can see the face you are speaking of.
Many only see the obvious and don't look deep.
You did a great job at this write bringing the rock to life. Thank You for sharing.

Interesting notes. Poem well written and possesses an easy to follow story line. Descriptive language used well throughout this little tale too.

Man this good. Really good. You have so many great lines.

Beware! As there are secrets those stones keep.
That's my favorite. The alliteration is so strong.

Your imagery is captivating and your form, as always, appears Perfect!

FANTASTIC!

Treishel, you have provided me with an education today as I have reviewed your poem! The photo is quite the curiosity and I can see where you felt motivated to write! The eloquence of your writing is very impressive, but the knowledge and execution of the Spenserian sonnet certainly lifts this poem for recognition, I think! Great job, and applause for you!!

Beautiful sonnet that compliments your photo very well. Rock climbing continues to be a fascination for many folks nowadays; not sure it's all that safe unless properly trained.

I was very interested in reading about the Spenserian sonnet - new to me - and, although I am not qualified to critique, I am very impressed by your work. This is very readable, has a great tempo, great use of vocabulary, and interesting.

Nicely done; lovely sonnet. I enjoyed reading this.

Enjoyed this poem very much. The rock is telling everyone to 'look at me with
my beauty' but you better 'respect me.'
It was an easy read and the pace was very good.
Thank you!

You are right, that rock has eyes and a large mouth. It would make the ideal setting for a horror story--how about kids disappearing into it as they play on the rock. Great rhyming and flow. Well done, Tom.

I really like the way you presented this poem about this rock outcropping. I too like looking at such presents of nature and wondering what story they could tell based on their centuries of watch.
Excellent

It certainly is an eerie looking piece of rock with that ill-tempered looking face peering out. It is easy to see how it got its reputation. The Senserian sonnet is an interesting form and I think you have handled the main body of the poem brilliantly. I'm not quite so happy about the the final couplet. I seems somehow a little too flippant in the company of the earlier lines. Just a thought.

Thank you Pantygynt. Hmm, you might have a point. I did intend to put the Spencerian volta there, but maybe i made the turn too strong.
