Very well done. I have not seen the movie or read the book but am aware of both. I've never been a horror fan but maybe I'll reconsider. Thanks for writing and sharing.

Hi Brett,
Fortunately, "The Shining" is one of the few horror movies I've seen, which helped me enjoy your poem.
You did such a good job with this writing challenge. The opening line is terrific.
Hugs,
Lou

Hi :)
Good adherence to form, and nice use of enjambment.
Your 5-7-5 sums up 'The Shining' well.
Kindest regards, Debra

Thanks. I am not after you changing your rating, could care a less, but do question why your 4-Stars does not match your actual review?

Whoops! Sorry, Brett - slip of the finger.
I'll go add that extra star for you right away, as I think your poem is just fine as it is - no adjustments required! Kindest regards, Debra :)

This is an absolute gem of a 5-7-5 and it is compliant to the 5-7-5 rules. It is also an excellent entry in the contest and i wish you all the luck with it.

This is an interesting poem that the author has created with this piece of writing. I have seen both the shining and Dean Kuch's poems and I totally agree with you that they are both inspirational experiences. Well done.

Brett,
I know that this was your review but it made me laugh like Johnny never could. I am a manic depressant so I truly appreciate you very much today.
I saw no SPAG and no typos. It was very clean.
I look forward to seeing you again.
Love you,
