Laura's very kind and understanding, is what Patsy needs. Of course, somehow she has to straighten things out. I suppose that's in the next chapters. Like how you've kept me wondering the same way as Laura was. Patsy is a superb addition to this book. Really nice dialogue. Reads smoothly. Les

Yes, everyone has a soft spot for Patsy. Nobody likes the thought of somebody being taken advantage of, especially if they're vulnerable. Now I have to give her a life without letting her take over the book! Alexis x

like the cliche says, dont sign before reading the fine print, i was scammed one by a real estate broker with the sale of my home, i let the contract expire then i sold it on my own, this added drama to your story

You're so right! It's happened to me too, so I know what it feels like to be at the receiving end. Alexis x

Unfortunately, this happens to a lot of lonely people. Con artists draw them in.
Patsy shot Laura a look as if she was a traitor for forgetting -- I found this humorous.
You have the reader roped in with this new turn of events. Will the three girls decide to avenge this poor lady?

Yes, they certainly will. Anyone who's been conned knows how devastating it can be because the abuser always tries to justify their actions, leaving the abused feeling stupid. Been there, got the tee shirt, so I know exactly how Patsy would feel! Alexis x

Well, it looks like Patsy has made a dreadful mistake, one of those that can change her's and others whole lives, from now on. But I wouldn't bet on it or anything. Great job. :-)

Thank you, Ric. Patsy is based on a guest who stayed at the hotel my husband and I ran, and yes, she nearly lost everything. It was good to be able to help and stop a pariah steal everything she had! Alexis x

How sad that Patsy's only friend would do that to her. Hopefully she has some new ones now. I hope Deirdre gets a big surprise when the police meet her at the station instead of Patsy. Chances are people like her have done something like this before.

Sadly, this is based on a true story. It's a case of the 'have nots' thinking they deserve what someone like Patsy has. Sad, but true. Alexis x

Poor Patsy, it seems there is always someone waiting around to take advantage of someone else, especially at a time when they are vulnerable. Clearly, Patsy was distraught after her father's death and sounds like this person took advantage. So nice of Laura to offer to help this woman. A nice, smooth flowing chapter.

Not much laughter in this one but the story had to be told so that Patsy's past is understood. Time to get her sorted out! Alexis x

Poor Patsy! There are few things worse than betrayed trust, and few things more important than the ability to trust. I thought you described Patsy's situation with clarity and simplicity.

Very wise words, Adrian. I think we've all been at the receiving end at one time or another. The problem with me is, I'd rather trust and be disappointed, than never trust again. Alexis x

Well done. This shows the compassionate side to Laura. Patsy is in trouble, and she is lucky to have found somebody street-smart like Laura to help.

I didn't like the way the chapter ended. I had to go back and re-read the last paragraph:
'I know a very good lawyer if you have.'
Suggest:
'I know a good lawyer should you need one.'

I agree, Nicole. I changed it from my original ending because of someone else's suggestion, and also because I thought Laura was maybe getting too close by offering to help Patsy with her problems. I've now returned it to the original thanks to you. Alexis xxx

Well done, Alexis, a great progression from the last episode, this is a "silly me" episode, I think we've all trusted someone we thought we could trust, and it turned out we couldn't. And the fact this dear lady, Patsy, ( what an intuitive name for this lady) taken for everything just surfaced, although expected, a great episode Alexis, well written and enjoyable. Well done, blessings, Roy,

I've been there myself, so can really relate to Patsy's character. Isn't writing wonderful. You can mould characters around different things that have happened to you and give them a better outcome. Very satisfying! Alexis x
