Pantygynt--
The British summer is that bad, eh? If you can stand the summer you can defeat the Blitz! I like that.

Aye, the beautifully foiled expectations of your stanzas here are what make this a terrific, moody, evocative poem -- to say nothing of strong.

Thanks
Wabigoon

Would be nice to be sitting out on that pier right about now. Picture definitely illustrates poem well. Verses fit together nicely and notes interesting. Write on.

So, that explains the British propensities. A damp and dreary Summer season. You 5-7-5 formatted stanzas described the beachfront environment on a dull day perfectly. A delightful piece about an unpleasant and unprofitable day. Nicely done!

Thank you very much for this. It's not always as bad as that but right now we are going through a relly cold and dismal patch.

I admire the way this piece is able to convey both resignation (to the weather conditions) and anticipation (of when the gray season will lift.) the playful imagery shines through a sort of "Rain, Rain, Go Away" atmosphere. These things give the reader an unusual feel for (not just view of) this place and time. I find that very appealing.

Thank you for this insiteful review. I'm glad you were able to pick up the humour in the stuff. Different cultures do not always react the same way to humour.

I love Punch and Judy... I used to watch them on Electric Company when I was a kid... sort of like Captain Kangaroo...?

never mind... i figured it out... and I'm going to have another cup of coffee... I'm obviously not even capable of counting to five this morning.
:(

love the imagery... and i'm happy to see Litorral expanding before my eyes... :)

I'm not sure I understand: "a one consonant word... " Did you mean syllable? Well it is single syllabled. It has to be to fit the the form. Sorry, bemused.

damn.... see what happens when I don't sleep... yeah, that's what I mean... but... hold on... wasn't it supposed to have seven syllables?
