This is quite beautiful--both the thoughts and their expression. Using the 5-7-5 format you described early morning and the promise that day brings. Actually, as I was ruminating over the picture (beautiful, too!), it occurred to me that even rainy, snowy mornings are hopeful for the rest of the day. Thanks! Caroline

I'm told this is an old hymn and I think I read Cat Stevens is now a Christian after being a monk for years. Beautiful poem, brother Roy.

Great news about Cat Stevens, I thought he converted Islam, even changed his name. I sing this song with my troubadour group, thanks my bro for the wonderful review, YBIC. Roy.

opps, I was wrong, you are right. He is still Muslim, but this is an old hymn. :)

Sorry about that Dennis, bless you.

As the spectacular as is the picture, so the writing in short sweet words. There are some beautiful words here that embellish the writing.. Love...hope and mercy are far reaching words. Well done.

This is a gorgeous poem, my friend. I love your satori, and the mood of the whole piece! A great contest that is written very well--which is not easy with this short form. I wish you good luck!

I love this...I love the verse the view and the word mercy
It reminds me of James 2:13
For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment. James 2:13
God bless

Lovely picture your son-in-law snapped; looks really professional. This part of Australia appears beautiful at sunset. The 5-7-5 poem is very simple and nicely written. Great job.

Yes, I concur. His faithfulness is indeed great, and His mercies are ever new. That has been and continues to be my experience.
An absolutely beautiful picture to accentuate those ever so true words.
Thank you for sharing with us that beauty echoed in the words and picture.

Hi Roy - a very good 5/7/5 with perfect syllable count and a gorgeous accompanying picture. Good word content. As you say a new day dawning brings new mercies. You always manage to incorporate a appropriate bible quote. Good luck in the contest. Warm regards Dorothy x
