Once you go through the soundtrack the imaging becomes clearer and the extension of the Purple Rain sentiment presented in 'puddles' takes on meaning and magisty.

I think this is an exceptionally clever poem that either looks totally crazy or totally ingenious! As you muse on the subject of love, you relate its various realms to the pitter patter of raindrops. You see them in various shapes and hues and try to work out an imaginary picture of your own. So very confusing, but so very special to read.
