Very well done. A powerful message. Couplets flow well. a good selection of photo. I myself discovered poetry at age 62, never thinking I had such talent, and was amazed how poetry helped me therapeutically by allowing me to get in touch with deep feelings and thought. Your poem also reminds me of a blind lady in my Florida writers group who is a great contributor with her poems.

Yes, TomyKan, I had given up poetry last year when I turned to storytelling, but FS encouraged me to resume my love of poetry at mid life. I am thrilled I shared my poem with you and that you shared your time with it. Thanks.

That was quintessential, a poem that encourage poets to express themselves through any means necessary. What I loved the most are the list of suggestion through which timid poets can express themselves and the fact that they were inspired by disable poets.

I came to FS with prose at the back of my mind and with only a faint idea of how poems are written. Poems like this have pushed me to a point where becoming a poet was within my grasp.

Phew!? I thought for one horrible minute you were talking to me! But I guess looking at the compassionate side of writing, everybody has a story to tell, and poetry and stories shared is a wonderful outlet for those who want to speak out. But you're right whether it be in the form of fanstory, or the public poet's mic is good, well done, written in couplets, a depth of thought went into this, blessings, Roy.

Well, Roy, maybe this poem is talking to you. It is talking to all poets and writers. Their two greatest enemies are fear and silence. It is better to dare to share. Thanks for your glowing review.

Oh my. You have to admire these people's courage, and then I have to hang my head in shame because I let the little things get me down. This is very well done.
Take care.
Christelle.

Excellent photo that complements your poem perfectly. Original idea to write about poets with different handicaps. Great you posted it to their magazine. Thanks for sharing.

This poem is an absolute wonderful piece with a lot of food for thought in it. It demonstrates to the reader how lucky we are to be normal poets without physical disabilities. Well done indeed.

Chris Tee, one of our greatest disabilities is fear. All of those poets are exceptional poets, disabled or abled. Your enjoyment of my tribute to them thrills me.

Wow, that was interesting. I'm definitely in the public-speaking-phobia category and would have to be heavily medicated to stand on a stage. What an inspiration these poets are!

Yes, flamingstar, they are inspiring. They are also excellent poets, disabled or abled. The two greatest fears of all poets are fear and silence. These poets overcame theirs. Thanks for the review.

Your poem is highly inspirational. If people who are physically challenged can have so much determination and courage to make their poems heard, there should be no reason for normal persons to dither. Let us express our feelings, ideas and dreams through poems right here at FS.

What an inspirational piece. Excellent use of parallel structure to list the poets with disabilities brave enough to share their words.
too afraid or shy to "amplify the voice shouted within"
We'll never know if what they wrote will move others.
Beautiful.

Yes, Spitfire, we may never know if the words of those trembling poets in the audience will move others. I am glad my poem moved you. Thanks for the review.

I think this poem is great for a couple reasons. I didn't know there were such slams as the one you described. The guts to go up makes poetry powerful.

Yes, Bill, I am amazed by the talent and the diversity of poets at these poetry readings and slams. Poets using sign language. Poets using talking computers. Poets who recite from memory because they are unable to read. I am awestruck and wrote my poem as a tribute to them. Thanks for your six star review.
