An interesting word picture painted here of the moment when 'warm bayou rain' falls to earth and creates some unusual sounds and even sights especially 'grits bubble and boil'

Grist bubble and boil is a wonderful last line. I was not expecting it and I love surprises. Your use of words creates clear images and feelings. The reader can hear the rain.

When it's raining it's the perfect time to take a nap or just sit and watch it while you write poems or review on Fanstory. I loved your little poem because it captured the sound and relaxing noise perfectly.

The rain has probably soaked more than a few people already, and the old tin roof may leak, but a good meal is coming up soon, and everyone is looking forward to it.

Good alliteration used in bubble and boil. The coloring, picture and words are a nice match. In only a few words you have managed to capture this scenery. Very well done!
Kind regards
Sarah

Hmmm, bubbling grits. A delightful image of rain on a tin roof and warm grits with lots of butter. This is the perfect poem for me. Glad to see your post.
