Poem flows well, has a story of lost love and time. A wish to change the past and the recognition of what is important to a woman..your time and being with you. I can feel the regret from the writing. Good luck in the contest.

I have never experienced the dreaded letter that you depict but have known my share of break ups. I'm a bit unclear as to whom the guilty one is but in the end does it really matter?

A very deep and moving poem that clearly depicts the author's personal pain and anguish. And yes, no one wants to hold on to baggage from someone they no longer love. Great read

I enjoyed the easy cadence of your rhyme. The theme goes well with the contest theme... I think i"ve been on this road before. :(

A good entry in this "empathy with Grief" contest. Well written, the grief fairly jumps off the page at you, it seals you into the narrative! I think it might have been for infidelity's sake, but the raw emotion can be felt, I might go back and communicate a little better, later draughts can be a little more Lucid. But well done, you have written a solid entry, the couplet rhyming was good, the language expressive and the descriptive imagery was also good, well done, blessings, Roy.

I guess getting a Dear John letter is a little worse when it comes from a spouse. I suppose one has a good cry then digs a couple holes in the back yard.

The grief of a heart broken husband who's wife has just left him and she is trying to be positive telling him he does not need a scarlet woman like her. Thanks for your comments. Appreciate them very much.
